With each new articles about hackers (crackers) they become less and less favorable compared to last month where Nintendo was issuing accounts bans for "innocent" homebrew consoles. Meet the new low.
The troubling part is Nintendo would either cut out displaying icons for balloon runs or worse case, cut it out in general. Happened with Swapnotes, Kid Icarus uprising and several other games with online/miiverse interactions (also miiverse in general). Best case just ban the people doing it
Got to love the large diverse Nintendo fan base where you can please one section with games and features from Ips the fans asked for, yet displease the next with what they don’t have and say they never listen to their fan.
The Switch has been out for a year, wait one more and then start making Molotov cocktails for Animal Crossing. Best case scenario, they’re doing a reverse Metroid Prime 4 announcement (working on it but keeping it on the dl).
As for Mother 3, well…. Hey I just realized it’s the 1st day of summer
It's so weird that I never run into these types of stuff personally in my gaming session but only know able them on social media from others (same with bug fixes).
At this point we should start learning to use the term crackers and script kiddie instead of the common term "hackers", since that leads to a lot of misunderstanding.
I’m good with the Sheikah Slate Carrying Case, kills 2 bird with one stone. Granted I rarely buy physical games so only 3 slots are use so far with a 128gb sd in the Switch.
I’m just thinking why would anyone need to carry up to 10 micro sd card, much less one that is not currently in the system. Just managing multiple sd cards is more hassle than it should be.
This is quite fair since the requirements are quite demanding if you want a rare/unseen Pokemon. I was worried when they come out with trading (yes I still had hope) it would be similar to the main series online trading with all the exploits and abuse.
Taking offline social interaction to the next level, an introvert/nethead worse enemy.
Compared to the Nintendo Direct in March, I'm happy to know more now then that teaser trailer with the inkling girl. I can only assume people thought it was a deluxe port because there are quite a number of them on the Switch already, and you know... patterns.
Next up is the more pressing matter to settle, is Pokemon Lets Go a spin-off or a core title with a different take (like BotW and WW)?
And in a few months share prices will raise when certain games get released and analysts see the crowd it draws in. Observing the treads and E3 is the best way to get the info all at once.
I expect more to be reveal but more so from Nintendo directs. After all a good portion of what we know/expect came from directs and non-E3 sites. With that said, I hope they have a surprise release for today.
I'm assuming that my current non-smash Inkling amiibo is also compatible. In any case I'm happy that amiibo is still relevant, even after the toys to life fad.
Since I'm planning to buy the game digital, I'll just get the Pokeball separately. The mew is a nice bonus if you were planning to buy it before this news. Still easy to get legitimately then the 1st Pokemon Yellow.
Part of me want to echo the voices here, yet the curious part wonder if this have to do with all those stability updates with the whole Splatoon 2 voice chat being a half thought prototype.
If Fire Emblem Warriors (which I'm still trying to complete) didn't exist, I would of already got this. Would be a nice quick way for me to catch up with the anime.
It caught my interest before, but after the demo it caught my wallet. I didn't know it had that much depth to it with the customization, english VO/cutscenes, and all. I thought I would like the touch controls but somehow I do better with the joy-cons.
Jokingly I also referred to this as the love child of Food Wars and Fighting Foodons.
Haven't played that game in a long time. Got it for the Oculus vr gear. Don't think I'll double dip for this one, but at least I remember I have one more game to beat.
Sushi Striker and BlazBlue, but I only have around $80 in the eshop so I can only pick one for now. I flipped a coin (solution to life's dilemma) and it landed heads, so I'm pre-purchasing Sushi Striker and getting BlazBlue a bit later.
At least I can still download the free dlcs until then.
I been researching getting a new Power bank for 3 weeks now. Have This and This in my amazon cart debating if I should buy it. I'm not used to spending more than $20 on a Power bank, so this is hard for me.
Been holding out playing Paladins until I knew for sure it was coming on the Switch. I hope (better) they have motion control for aiming, it's the only way I can play FPS now (plays Overwatch with Steam Controller)
Seems like I have to cut myself off from social media until Tuesday night. At this point the only game(s) that could come as a surprise is directly from Nintendo.
@Damo @ryancraddock Fair enough. I did find it weird that 3 other sites that popped in my news feed said the opposite when it came to online play around the same day that article came out. It's easy to mistranslate and miscommunicate.
In my case it was less on the article/ryan it/himself and more on the reactions of some people. Quick to write off without waiting to learn more because of an game change.
Like with what Sun & Moon did with gym battle, I welcome the change of pace. If I was a kid again (and not just in mind) I would be overly excited for the gameplay style and accessory.
I know this was on my youth wishlist along with controlling Pokemon directly in-game instead of trainers (checked) and real world Pokemon as pets. Maybe that last one will happen in my 40s hopefully.
Plus no accidental critical hit KOs when trying to catch that rare Pokemon that unexpectedly appear. The memories is returning.
I'm real excited overall with the Pokemon games coming/came out. They really creating something for everybody. A game for the casuals (more so the freenium crowd), the "hardcore", and everyone in between that wide gap. Plus you can never have too many Pokemon.
More excited for Lets Go since it have a play style I prefer over Quest and I know a lot more about it than the one coming in 2019. Only thing I know is the year of release, the system it's on, and that it's a core title. Cant work me up with words and tease
By the way, I have to take a moment to really appreciate how Globally united Pokemon games have gotten. I remember years ago having to wait up to a year, some cases more after Japan's release to get it stateside (in other cases never). Now I can get what they have same day. Oh how they evolved.
Well my Pokemon Go+ is my most used Nintendo(ish?) accessory I own, so this will not go to waste on me. I just wonder if that "Approx. 3 hours" battery life is in general or just for playing on the Switch.
I am really hyped about this. I like my "traditional" core Pokemon games but I really enjoy it when they make games that differs from the core experience. Some of my favorite games are Pokemon spin-off. It's gets boring doing the same thing for 22 years without change. Let's Go Eevee, unless I can play Let's go Raichu
Times like this I wonder what would happen if social media was around when games like Pokemon Snap (also $60 at that time and not Pokemon Stadium) was announced/ released. Dollars to donuts it would get a stronger reaction than this. Ironically people want a sequel to it too.
Thanks to this event, I've been able to complete one of my mythical discovery task in 1/4 of the time (buddy candies) and evolved several of the rare rock types.
Also more experience points is always a good thing especially when you're still level 38.
Times like this makes me think that I should focus more on my backlogs, especially for games I haven't played yet like this one. I been sitting on it since the holiday season.
@Yorumi ohhh gotcha. I figured hacking a server would be harder; I’m just not educated enough in that area to know the steps and programming that goes behind it, only the general basic.
My mind drafted a bit off topic on the Sony hack part. I was thinking less on the gaming part (different) and more on ruining fun for other people from an ethical standpoint.
I think back on how hackers ruined online gaming for Wii and Wii U (aww Splatoon 1). I know there are a few that do it for harmless homebrews and offline cheats, but they don’t compare to the many others that use it in more harmful ways to other people. Granted the latter is normally the ones that announce themselves online (forum, in-game, etc.), therefore the most common, by internet law.
Team Donnie for the win. It’s funny when you think you been losing more times than winning (especially my 7 losing streak), only to check your Nintendo app and find out that you won 19/37 matches (51.35%). Even funnier when it’s almost the same results as the overall Splatfest.
On a side note, I like the art style/direction of the new Ninja Turtles. It gives them more character compared to pre-2012 (movies and series) “identical” quadruplets. Not saying that as a bad thing, just a change of pace.
I was always hoping that Overwatch would make it to Switch eventually, but if Paladins comes out that would be awesome too. One way or the other, I would love to play a team-based multiplayer first-person hero shooter with motion controls on the Switch.
Downloaded Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy last week, nice that it haven't been forgotten in this week lineup. I just hope Bandai Namco would release Road to Boruto in the future.
Well this feels like a slap in the face for me. Yesterday was the last day to use my "Just for you" birthday (4/17) 30% discount. Ended up using it on Ever Oasis. A few hours later the same discount for 90 Gold Points. Feeling less special now.
I'll get the Majora’s Mask 3D eGuide just for the heck of it.
I hope that increase level cap is coming in the very distant future. It's one thing that it takes 2 million XP to go from level 1 to 30, but its madness that it takes 18 million more XP to go from level 30 to 40. Forever a 38.
Good on them for the fight against spoofing and/or being aware they're still around.
Still play all of them, some more than others. Some days I chalk in more hours playing mobile than my Switch and 3ds.
Still trying to understand why people think that not having a mobile game division (sometimes 3ds) would increase games in the Switch division. I understand "traditional" gamers not liking them but it's not like we seen a decrease in quality/quantity since the first mobile game went into production. Imo the game release seems more stronger on the switch 1st year than the Wii U's (pre-mobile).
I remembered buying a 1st party dock set last year for $76.31 (best buy open box) for the living room. Thought about being cheaper and getting a 3rd party dock but I had too many experience with faulty non 1st party chargers (Iphone, Samsung, laptop) and not as relevant GC controllers, I didn’t want to risk the dock/charger breaking on me. Ironically this is the opposite of what I expected.
Sorry for everyone’s system for getting bricked but lesson for the future, sometimes it pays not to be cheap and just spend the extra $ for the official product. Something it can save money in the long run.
"You will be able to continue using your Miitomo Mii character as the Mii character for your Nintendo Account after the termination of Miitomo service, but you will not be able to use the clothes and accessories you had set in Miitomo after maintenance is complete. (Any clothes and accessories you had already set will be removed)."
I'm going to miss this the most. I was hoping they would integrate in the switch like they did with Super Mario Run and MyNintendo in the future. I love mii but he needs to get some fashion sense and character.
Nice to see it’s still going strong. Don’t want them to stop supporting them anytime soon. Still have so much potential that is not being used (Read/Write data).
I just wish they have a bigger use in-game, or at least close to before. They swing so far to please amiibo haters lately that the latest games and amiibo just unlock contents earlier. Not worth using Detective Pikachu for unlocking all “Pika Prompts” unless you’re OCD. With that said, I brought said amiibo (number 100)
Glad to see ARMS closing in on the 2 million mark. Especially as a new IP with a different style of gameplay.
The sells of 1-2-Switch vs Xenoblade Chronicles 2 have got me thinking that even though there are gamers on gaming sites voice opinions, there are even more who are offline and don't interact on social media like us, or as "hardcore". Just remembering all the non gamers/techies in my life
I forgot this update was coming this month. In any case it gives me a good reason to start playing ranked matches again, I was cautious being S Ranked being match with/against people who are more dedicated to the mode than me (only plays Salmon Run currently).

Re: Nintendo Bans Online Services For Prominent Hacker's Switch Console
@Yorumi That is true; it would make it harder to cheat since they have all the data on the server end and I imagine easier to monitor.
Wouldn’t stop the real ones from finding alternative ways to gain the system for a while or attack it, like they did with the PSN server hack.
