Dragalia Lost is my favorite in the group so it’s nice that it making money. It’s the one that is the least greedy when it comes to the Gacha game. Hands out summon vouchers and Wyrmite like crazy and it not demanding that you have the latest Adventure/Dragon to conquer the stages and be of use online.
Bit sad that Super Mario Run is last (Dr. Mario World doesn’t exist ) when it’s only one you pay once for the full game with no micro transaction. Now that I say it aloud, it sadly makes sense.
I’ll probably get the 3-month plan and see where it goes from there. Looking at all the features including the ability to use your smart devices, mystery gifts, and “your room” it is an improvement over Pokémon Bank. I’ll mainly use it for the transferring part and store them in the game, so I wouldn’t be utilizing 6000 space, much less 50 (at this current time). I think I can survive off the basic plan afterwards since you can do everything else (but less), just not Pokémon Bank.
It is nice that they will have Pokémon Bank (and Poké Transporter) available free for one-month. I haven’t renewed mines in years and I will feel weird paying for a year only to use it for a day.
Glad they listen to the feedbacks with the controls.
I suggested something like a button to switch from simple to manual since its troublesome switching controls back and forward in the settings while driving.
This is so far better since I use manual for speed and points and simple for accuracy and grabbing coins.
With my flooded backlog, I have to skip out getting this for now which is a 1st for me.
If I didn’t have a list to complete, I’ll pick Shield since I nearly always pick the second name of the 2 versions since 1998. The one exception is Pokémon diamond and that’s because diamond is my birthstone and I prefer time over space.
Looking at my play record, Mercy is my second used Hero with 5hrs (1st Wrecking Ball with 7hrs) so this works out for me.
First time I use twitch to watch something that wasn’t the Pokémon world championship. Kind a hard for me to find a twitch streamer I like to watch play since most of the ones I watched so far takes the game a little too seriously, even for quick play.
I'll stick with my Pokeball Plus for now. Using it for almost a year and it still works like a charm.
I'll wait for the follow up review. I been burnt by Datel twice (3 if I count exchange) with their go-tcha to the point I hear it as gotcha (tricking someone)
Nice, I always enjoy rhythm games with movements (rip DDR). Got everyone except Just Dance 1 and 2.
I'll get it when ubisoft have their usual eshop sale a few months later. I remembered downloading Just Dance 2019 last Christmas for $20, so wishful thinking it's the same this year.
Good to know that the old is not getting pushed aside for the new.
One thing that’s annoying but understandable with online sequels is most people move on to the latest game with the older having less people online to play with. Makes it worse when you buy the “older” game when the latest installment is announced or released shortly after.
It is nice that they acknowledge the feedbacks and work to improve the game.
I’m still playing since I have a fear of getting left behind, I love the design and english voiceover(not used to eastern mobile games giving us that option), and I always wanted a Pokémon game that give more life to the different trainers like in the anime.
Give and take some Gym leaders and Elite four, a good amount of them don’t really get much spotlight in the main games.
Going to buy it when the stores open at 10. I need something to trick me into exercising more by disguising itself as a fun game, like disguising vegetable as junk food to a kid.
I may have a slight hard time playing the game though since I hurt my right biceps in the most embarrassing/questionable way possible yesterday, pressing the Poké ball plus in my pocket. Got to look up on how that’s possible. Good thing I can avoid or adjust certain exercise.
Ring Fit Adventure for me. I need a game that will keep warm and active for the coming cold that is not just Arms, Just Dance, and Taiko no Tatsujin when I feel the rhythm.
That is a bummer for the people looking forward to this. I kind of wonder what would happen if they continued on with the event.
Best case scenario fans will play the game, meet their favorite voice actors, interact and have a good time. Worst case scenario people come to protest and shame gamers and staffs for even supporting Blizzard and possibly escalate things to the dangerous level.
I would hope for the former but seeing as people are frowned on for even pre-purchasing the switch version, I don’t see it turning out well either way.
Downloaded and still playing. I'm not going to buy any rubies though.
I do enjoy the game but I hope it takes a page from Dragalia Lost and be more friendly/generous to the user like separate the drivers from the pipe pool or increase/get rid of the 300 coin limit.
I see it as buy 90 Rubies for $40, get Diddy Kong and a quick ticket for free vs just 93 Rubies for $50.
If you're interested in just the driver you can buy it with gold (in-game currency) for 3,000 when available in your shop. Did that with Mario and Rosalina.
It sure has improved over the months leading to this point. It is my most played game on my smart device (day one player). Mega man is nice but everything else got me super pumped, especially all the free summons and QoL which have spoiled me (and likely others) from other Gacha games.
I hope games like Pokemon Masters can improve in a similar type of manner over the next few months.
I will be getting it but not at this precise moment since I’m still playing Astral Chain, SNES Switch Online and Super Kirby Clash along with some other games on mobile like Pokémon Masters and Dragalia Lost. I never did play the first demo but I do like the prologue demo, especially after I spent an hour just creating my character
This is lovely news; I’m going to add that to my list when I get the time.
I already got the PC version that I used to play all the time but the toxic community turned me off from playing again. Also starting up my PC and hoping that my Steam controller setup with motion aiming (can’t play Keyboard & mouse style) will work was also a downer but not much compared to the 1st point.
I'm not going to buy the game anytime soon but I already pre-ordered the Link amiibo. With recent games like Astral Chain, Pokemon Master, and next week Daemon X Machina taking my time, it would be hard to juggle it in the group. I can wait for a sale
I was so close to buying a 8bitdo controller before this news. Only reason I didn't pull the trigger was because I have my doubts with 3rd party controllers.
If I can use this for games like Super Mario Makers 2 I'm sold.
I like the 3ds version so count me in for the Switch version. Oddly enough the main reason I played the 1st one so much was because it was free to start so I can play with my friends who don't buy games.
So far it looks to be more generous on the Gem Apple then the 3ds one but I guess that also because there are more stuff to spend on like stickers.
I did. Quite like that each of the characters are English voiced as well since most of the gacha games I play that aren’t by Nintendo are Japanese only with English text. Nothing wrong with that but most times they say stuff that are not translated and I’m left wondering what they say, even if it’s a pointless taunt. Just a pet peeve.
I only played up to chapter 2 since I didn’t have much time yesterday and most of the time I was re-rolling for a five star (hope for Olivia, got Karen) but I’ll give it a full play through today.
I’m getting it, just have to decide if I should use my only game voucher to get it, pay with my eShop credit and gold coins, or hope that Target will have a download code (highly doubt it) since this week they have 20% off “all game download codes”.
I like the type of games that you have to do two things at once with stuff going on, like a pat your head and rub your tummy type way.
I already preregister when they first opened. I am looking forward to playing it since I like the change of pace and gameplay of the spin-offs.
Now a day I think I spend more time playing mobile games then my Switch, guess it’s easier to play with one-hand standing in a subway train and walking by comparison.
Seeing as Mario Kart is the only game my girlfriend have a chance at beating me in, I can say it's been positive for us, especially when she wins. I guess that's also why it's her favorite multiplayer game.
That is nice. Even though I fixed 2 of my joy-cons (blue), I haven’t got around to fixing the other 2 (red) since I have another pair (yellow) and a Pro controller me and my girlfriend been using. I’ll likely call them to set a repair order tomorrow, saving my 2 replacement analog for another time.
Good for Dragalia Lost, glad they can make money with the route they take to curb player spending . Out of those 5, it's my favorite mobile game.
I enjoy the story and gameplay, they listen to players feedbacks (ex. removing wyrmprints from summoning pool), and biggest of all its f2p friendly. They are generous with summon vouchers & wyrmite and with no pvp there is no pay to win with other players.
Yep, both side the pair that comes with the Switch at launch and the neon red/blue pair I got a month later. Each one at different points in time with the first happening around October 2017.
Long story short, after dealing with Nintendo & the repair service and buying a brand new neon yellow joy con in Feb 2019 (with square trade warranty) to avoid more repair cost, I brought 4 replacement analog sticks on amazon and fix it myself. 3 months later and it’s still good.
Also the neon yellow pair is still good 5 month later.
At some point I wonder how does Pokémon go still make all this money when they’re not really greedy on the micro transaction as some other mobile games. Not really pay to win, paywall (unless there are pokestop for miles) or Gacha.
Interested in the Pokémon GO is still not in China, I thought they were getting rid of that ban since last year.
That is pretty nice, I like the yellow color more than I thought I would.
I already know this is not for me since I already own the original and use all the features it provide. It would be like me buying a new 2DS (or 2DS if taking it to the next level) when I already own a new 3DS XL.
Beauty about this thing is, more choices for people with different game style and budget.
From the 256GB card I have, I have 38.4GB remaining so I am ready.
Side note: I kind of flipped when I saw that NBA2K19 takes up 32.6GB of my SD space, slightly more then Naruto Shippuden Trilogy (17.6GB)and Smash Ultimate (14.9GB) combined. At least I know what to archive now if need be.
Good on them for still supporting the Wii and indirectly Wii U (backward compatibility) long after the life cycle. I sometimes have to remind myself that not everyone upgrades to the latest consoles (like 4 of my relatives) and if articles like This is anything to go by, there is still a demand for it.
Planning to take advantage of the sale by getting; Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, Ultra Space Battle Brawl, and maybe Travis Strikes Again. I also want to get Luigi's Mansion for the 3DS but debating it because of current backlog.
I also purchased the digital version of Mario+ Rabbids even though I got the physical version since it’s kind of beneficial for me to pay $26 for the gold edition vs $20 just for the season pass. Also brought NBA2K19 just because (with gold coins).
I already think about and play Pokemon every waking moment, now it will be in sleeping moments as well? It's getting harder and harder to say I don't have a problem
Month ago I pushed it aside since it seems like a Japan exclusive I wouldn’t get a chance to buy.
Now I’m already imagining what style I would wear for work, which is weird for me since I'm not fussy on fashion and I pick whatever business casual clothes I haven’t wear in the past 2 weeks.
Well it seems like it’s working since me and my girlfriend fall more on the casual side of Smash, even though we play a lot.
Now I’m not saying that the competitive scene is boring/lacking/too serious, they have some great intense one-on-one matches. It just that with this side, it’s add an extra layer of planning since you have to anticipate outside elements that is not in your control and use it to your advantage. Pretty much what @WiX is going with.
I am very excited about the amiibo part since me and my friends use them from time to time in our battles.
I don't have the Labo VR but I'm happy they are spreading it to more games for people that do. More bang for their bucks. Looking forward to the Labo preview.
I am saddened by this. One of the reason I loved the 1st game is because it made all my amiibo feel uniquely useful, especially the ones that have one unique use in one game like Chibi Robo and Pokemon to name a few.
I know there are people who don’t like them and want them gone, but it was a nice treat for those who still do and have one or more (in my case a lot) laying around on display. Also like many people here said, you can unlock them without amiibo so it’s not like those people were missing out.
#3 is my biggest question. Love the amiibo support in the first one, most of my stages was themed from non-mario characters. I'm just hoping they're saving the news for E3. Would be cool showing it off with the Joker amiibo.
This kind of leaves a bittersweet taste in my month. On one hand they are cracking down on a controversial business practice which I like, on the other hand it’s the government controlling what games people can and can’t play.
Maybe I’m just overthinking it since I grew up in a time where politician were trying the same with violent video games, so I'm not too trusting on them making the call.
As an 80% digital gamer (20% physical if I can get a good enough store deal) this works in my favor, especially for the day one 1st party purchases.
Since I stock up on eShop cards only when they’re on sale at Newegg, PayPal, and eBay (ex. Buy $50, get $10 card free or $50 card for $42.50) I get 5% or 10% discount before I buy a game. Add in the 5% for gold coins and a step that saves me from paying 8.875% and I’m a happy gamer with more e-money to throw.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Kirby Clash. Happy they have online play as well so I can team up with others when my RL friends aren't around.
Snes NSO too with one Snes controller when it becomes available.

#3 is my biggest question. Love the amiibo support in the first one, most of my stages was themed from non-mario characters. I'm just hoping they're saving the news for E3. Would be cool showing it off with the Joker amiibo.
Re: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp And Fire Emblem Heroes Are Being Shut Down In Belgium
Re: Talking Point: Does The Nintendo Switch Game Voucher Programme Offer Value For Money?
As an 80% digital gamer (20% physical if I can get a good enough store deal) this works in my favor, especially for the day one 1st party purchases.
Since I stock up on eShop cards only when they’re on sale at Newegg, PayPal, and eBay (ex. Buy $50, get $10 card free or $50 card for $42.50) I get 5% or 10% discount before I buy a game. Add in the 5% for gold coins and a step that saves me from paying 8.875% and I’m a happy gamer with more e-money to throw.
