Re: Nintendo: "Physical Games Are Still A Key Part Of Our Business"

My switch 2 when it arrives, will be used for nintendo physical games only apart from very good value for money games like fast rmx. My ps5 will handle other physical games as it is the more powerful console. But, unfortunately, like it or not, the days of physical are numbered. Hopefully, going forward, we will still have a choice, but will have to pay a premium, which I 'm OK with, but not over the moon with.

I remember paying £80 just for street fighter 2 turbo on the snes from Littlewoods catalogue back In the 90s. Then spending the next 52 weeks paying it off! So this not only looks great, but is fantastic value for money! What with this and nintendo sending me an email stating they will be taking money shortly for my switch 2 pre-order, well I've had worse days!!

@ tanukisan7x Although I agree with you in principle, if a game is worth over £50, then myself and others are willing to pay it and do, or we wait for the inevitable price drop. The alternative, is we hang up our modern controllers for good and go retro. Most of my games, are below 100gb, visually stunning and up until recently have been very reasonably priced, if not, generously priced. I used to pay £40 for games back in the 90s, so paying over £50 or even £60 or more for a game that I really want, does not concern me in the slightest. Comparison, in 1994 i paid £40 for the snes donkey kong country, in today's money, that is £83.15. I have just preordered donkey kong bonzanza for £65, so you could argue DKB is cheaper than DKC. We all have to factor in every thing has gone up. However, there is a limit and IMO we are at that limit for now.

@DonkeyKongBigBoy I'm talking much further down the line, when people like me will either choose to hang up our controller or be taking a dirt nap. As for people making their choice. I disagree, as stated, more people want a choice by along way over totally digital.

@DonkeyKongBigBoy yep, I, like you can see where it is all going. Gamers like me/my age won't be gaming for much longer and generations coming through are more digital. But as it stands, there are more people wanting a choice. For how much longer, well, we shall see.

@DonkeyKongBigBoy it would seem most gamers like a choice between physical and digital, with a slightly bigger percentage wanting physical compared to digital. However, the largest percentage would like a choice by a country mile.taken from gamefaq's site.
