@Sabruka Probably because of the shadows and shading. Though on the other side of the coin, it's not AI because "AI Art" usually fails to pick up on the more tiny details. That and look at how many different background elements there are. A bot could NEVER get them all looking right.

I did the tour, but the quality and style of the artwork differs largely, which kind of put me off for a bit. I did enjoy seeing some new ideas here and there, like turn-based battles for a Zelda title. If only we'd ever get something like that...

Pixel art truly is a timeless sub-genre of digital art, because both versions of each image look gorgeous.

These mostly look very nice, some are a bit busy. There is something to be said for the lower quality of the originals where you use your imagination to fill in the gaps. It’s like seeing a book you love made into a film and they didn’t realise it the way it is in your head

@dew12333 lol... read the article. And even so, if this was an actual game it would be a BIG BOY effort. Nobody would be saying "we made a NEW game", a reimagining takes a lot of effort too.
