I would now say that Microsoft will be making games for Nintendo but they don't actually make games do they? they will be paying others to make their games for Nintendo, lol

Doesn't matter to me... I already wrote off EA.

I think games like Skyrim would make good use of the gamepad... too bad it will never happen..

It's the "Episode 1" part that bothers me... I suspect that Episode 2 won't make it to Wii U... Like what happened with the Last Sonic episode on the Wii.

@hydeks yeah, maybe it is that the 3rd party developers just aren't as good these days... back in the NES days there were tons of very successful third party games, Contra, Metal Gear, Castlevania, etc..

Still... I bet if the main character was replaced with Mario and the game named Mario City Undercover it would have sold at least a million more.

Sales for even Nintendo published games are pathetic, Lego City sold 20,000 in USA and 11,000 in Europe, wow, what's wrong with Wii U owners, one of the best games on the Wii U and most Wii U owners aren't giving it a chance, that's why third parties are leaving. There's more to life than Mario guys...

I don't get this game... I just don't get it... I have never tried to make myself like a game like I have this one, it just doesn't work for me...

@GamerJunkie They aren't being greedy at all. I want the retail copy and would have paid full price but they are making it half price!

What about all the EA sports games? Luigi U is a more different than Mario U when compared to the EA sports games that come out at FULL price every year.

That is a bad comparison, the reason the Wii didn't not sell more is that most people could find one in the first year.

I hope the Wii U succeeds but they are in a lot more trouble than they are admitting to.

@Hunter-D not to mention that the Wii U has no lag between the TV and its second screen like other devices.

How quickly people forget that the Wii absolutely blew away the competition... they brought gamers of all ages, something that no other console has ever done.

@Grubdog I love Steel Diver, it's the most unique game on the 3DS, nobody gives those type of games a chance anymore,,,.

I think it will still be a great game, I admit that Nintendo didn't really give us anything unique though, I was blown away the first time I played a Mario game on a new console, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Galaxy, etc... so far the Wii U has not done that.

I expected more by now. Just look at Giana Sisters Twister Reality (coming soon to Wii U), that series began as a shallow Mario clone and has now surpassed the new Mario games in many ways.

Really? I have a Wii U and a good PC, if you ask me the Sony and Microsoft systems are useless, I can't play Nintendo games on a PC.

So you are saying that all the EA sports games aren't rehashes? I still play the old Mario games, I don't go back and play Tiger Woods 1999 do you?

And get over it and buy a DVD player! do you want your console to make toast also? it's pathetic for someone to slam a game console for being a game console.

I agree, and Mario 64 style is my favorite, I like the Galaxy games but hate the whole choose your level on a map thing...

This game looks great! all the Skylanders games have excellent gameplay, I'm not convinced of the Disney Infinity game...and not having the ability to take your Disney characters into any area is a mistake.

No second console needed... a Wii U and a good PC is all I need.

You can use all the old characters in the new game

Third parties seem to have no problems supporting the Xbox One, a system that has no sales yet and tons of bad publicity. It's not only business decisions, third parties are made up of plenty of Xbox and PS fanboys and a lot of designers that care more about graphics than gameplay. Basically most third party developers just suck and know they cannot compete with games made by Nintendo.

I'm not holding my breath for Wii Fit U in December or Mario Kart in spring, we have heard dates so many times for things.... my guess is Wii Fit U next summer and Mario Kart December 2014.

Zelda Skyward Sword would be the best most recent example but all of their games are top notch, the mini games are to attract non gamers like my wife, they have to increase the install base somehow. I agree in a way though... they could be doing a lot more, the last Mario game didn't sell systems neither will this one.

It didn't come across as egotistical to me. I can think of a lot worse to say about third party companies like EA.

Nintendo makes great games, their track record for quality is much higher than any third party company out there. It's this kind of attitude that will keep them the best video game developers for years to come. Give them the credit they deserve.

so basically all Xbox One games are rental only... it's funny that a large company like Microsoft can be so stupid at times...

Finally we hear from the ultimate expert that GAMEPLAY is more important than graphics! some of us have been arguing that for years.

I thought Nintendo was going to fix things... we get delays, no Earthbound news, the Sonic/Mario Kart rumour was false, no price drop, the Mario games and Donkey Kong look good but really, last years Mario didn't help anything, do you think that another Mario and Donkey kong will save the Wii U? I don't... Nintendo really screwed up with getting anyone else interested in the Wii U...

I'm getting the NES version

The emulated games were the main thing that kept me playing Animal Crossing...

I wish they would have it on the weekend or something... most people are working at 10 am on a Tuesday!

Yes, some Gamestops have it already, An Amazon seller does also but is charging double, the normal price is $25

I'll stick with the 15 hour Nyko battery, 8 hours is nothing...

Imagine if NES was full of DRM, what a nightmare this would be for future collectors. If Nintendo ever does something this stupid I am done.

10 years later Microsoft won't have the servers around needed to support their DRM (the need to be connected to the server every day to play a game). When they shut that down, your game library is shut down also. I'm playing NES games from nearly 30 years ago, do you really think Microsoft is going to keep things going for that long? your investment will be totally lost, I'd never let someone else decide for me how long I am going to play my games.

Of course I use it, it's like having an HDMI Wii...

Yes they did, Lego City and Mario are two examples of AAA titles. I know... I know... people are going to say but it's not a 3D Mario! MAKES no difference! do you honestly know any Mario fan that says yuck, a 2D Mario game.... there are more casual gamers out there that are more a fan of 2D Mario than The 3D ones.

If they make a Galaxy 3 then the fanboy press will just be saying... more of the same but in 720...

I agree... Wii U and a PC is the way to go... anything worthwhile on the other consoles is always on the PC and Nintendo games never are.

I can't wait until all the Microsoft fanboys run out and buy loads of games and then try to play them 10 years later to find that they no longer work. Maybe then people will realize what kind of company they are, they do not care about the gamers. I own my Wii U games and will be able to play them forever.

I suppose if a brand new company all of the sudden announces a system that is twice the power of nextbox people would then say Microsoft sucks? of course not, why? those are the fanboys, I hope they enjoy what Microsoft is now doing to help ruin gaming, do you not realize that you will only be able to rent games for the new xbox? don't believe me? just try to play those games in 10 years and see if they work.
