Re: Random: The Last Of Us Director Admits He's A Nintendo Fan In Podcast With Reggie Fils-Aimé

Shinobi1Kenoby

Well of course he is. He loves games and grew up wanting to make games after playing good quality games.... which undeniably would have inluded super Mario. This is surely a given. but we should obviously listen to a naughty dog developer give credence to a developer way above their standing like it validates what Nintendo do?
Just when I thought the world wasn’t screwed up enough. This is like listening to David Haye saying he thought Mike Tyson gave a good effort in the 80’s

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Release A Digital-Only Switch?

Shinobi1Kenoby

Sony and Microsoft would say that. Their consoles are ridiculous as you need the same hard drive space for every game whether you have the disc or not. Every game needs installing off the disc with disc reduced to a mere boot tool. Game carts are the game and therefore don’t need masses of expensive system storage to play. This is and always will be the massive benefit of cartridges. That and loading times still makes Sony and Microsoft look a joke.

Re: Random: Sonic Boom Won't Be Returning, According To Television Show's Executive Producer

Shinobi1Kenoby

I remember buying the game, issue 1 of the comic and then sitting down my first born son, ready to welcome the new age of sonic for me and introduce him to one of my childhood hero’s and awaiting the awesome avalanche of support sonic was now getting. Episode 1 finished... we both took off our sonic t-shirts with teary eyes and thought “what the **** was that!?” Sega had ruined sonic yet again. They couldn’t kill this abomination fast enough for me.

Re: Streets Of Rage 4's Dotemu Is Working On Three Unannounced Projects

Shinobi1Kenoby

Well what I instantly heard was Shinobi IV: Revenge of the Ninja Master. Two projects beside these would be good, but this company need to deliver on the other best ever game Sega forgot to make a sequel to since the mid 90’s.

Beyond Shinobi and streets of rage I’m not sure what this company’s approach can bring to the table with a Sega IP. Although they did do wonder boy, so seeing them make a long awaited sequel to Beyond Oasis would be incredible and also Golden Axe IV, especially if it as satisfyingly visceral as streets of rage 4 is.

Re: Capcom's Resident Evil Series Has Doubled The Lifetime Sales Of The Company's Former Champion

Shinobi1Kenoby

@carlos82 are you even aware that you’re typing??

Bless. You’re and arguer for arguments sake. Street fighter games have been fundamentally, almost literally, the same game every iteration, spanning some 20 plus iterations. FIFA is almost literally the same game every year.
Animal crossing is fundamentally the same game, as is every single IP ever created. But typically they have advancements that make the next iteration worth your while. Games such as animal crossing tick that box.
What is the vague and pointless point you think you’re making?

Re: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Expected To Launch This October

Shinobi1Kenoby

@HXLXIII nope. If I was describing CoD, I’d use 1 word and 1 word alone. And I can’t type it here.
Star Wars has been garbage for a long time. It’s turned into the Hollywood youth playing on their jaded dads star power. Like Paris Hilton did off of her Dad’s global hotel chain, like Nicole Richie did of Lionel. Just utter vacuous nonsense playing on the names of their forefathers. Last three films in particular.
Empire was awesome. Everything else after.... 😒
Except Mandalorian which I was massively surprised and impressed with.

Re: EA Set To Launch "Multiple" Titles On Nintendo Switch In 2020

Shinobi1Kenoby

NHL 21 please. We haven’t had NHL in a Nintendo platform for 15 years since NHL 06 and I’m tired of playing it on XBox One with the crap controller. I want to be able to play it anywhere on the console with the best controller ever made. And not a watered down bag of rubbish, one with all modes, in full, including HUT and CHEL and every other mode.

Re: Soapbox: Switch Really Needs Games Like Excitebike 64, Wave Race, 1080° Snowboarding And, Yes, F-Zero

Shinobi1Kenoby

Never mind the Switch. WE need these games. We haven’t had a sequel to the awesome Excitebike since the N64, we haven’t had a good F-Zero sequel since the N64 (X is way better than GX, don’t argue) and we haven’t had a sequel to 1080 since the GameCube. Absolutely awesome Nintendo IPs just languishing. All different types of racer and all equally amazing.

Re: Sega Shiro Needs To Stop Sega Going Bankrupt In This New Video

Shinobi1Kenoby

@rdm22 pseudo adult? Are you not an actual adult?

It is somewhere close to 99.99999% likely to never happen that Sega will ever release a console again. But should the day ever arrive that the Sega “fill awesome name here” should ever launch along with launch titles like:

Virtua Fighter 6
Street of Rage 4
Panzer Dragoon Drei
Golden Axe
Sonic the Hedgehog 5
Sega Rally 3
Virtua Tennis
Beach Spikers 2 (yes this deserves a sequel)
Shinobi IV Revenge of the Ninja Master
Yakuza
Jet Set Radio
Football Manager

I’m also sick of EA Sports and actually rated the Sega Sports line in the 90’s, particularly NHL 2K, NBA 2K, World Series Baseball and NFL 2K. I’d love a direct competitor to give us an alternate option for all sports instead of being monopolised by EA year in year out and the garbage the drop out.

Then THAT is a console I’d definitely buy

Re: Xbox Boss Doesn't See Nintendo As A "Main Competitor" In The Next-Gen War

Shinobi1Kenoby

He doesn’t see the greatest console ever made as competition?...... made by the biggest video game company in history?....... 😂.

To be fair he’s right. What Nintendo have done is taken the Gameboy and given it steroids whilst sat in a nuclear grow bag and given birth to single greatest piece of gaming hardware ever conceived.

You still “need” a hardwired home gaming unit, as if you look deep down and honestly, we are all graphics to some extent. But truth be told, everyone needs a Switch as that is the future of actual gaming.

Re: DOOM Eternal Has Been Delayed, And The Switch Version Is The Most Heavily Affected

Shinobi1Kenoby

@GuruOfGreatness
Which I agree with in essence, but it’s a completely different point,

A game being delayed because it hasn’t passed quality control or the developer delaying the game to make sure it is to a certain quality always results in a better version of that game. As per this article on why Doom is being delayed.

An arbitrary total being delayed because it was stuck in a decade long law case is a completely different version of a delay. Which a delay relative and not to a handful of games and completely different to this point in case.

I get it was being sarcastic, but was an irrelevant point.

Re: DOOM Eternal Has Been Delayed, And The Switch Version Is The Most Heavily Affected

Shinobi1Kenoby

@GuruOfGreatness

Lol.

Mine was also written in sarcastic jest. Sarcasm doesn’t really translate in text though obviously.

But objectively, nothing you said actually agreed with my original comment or anything after. Your comment that what I said didn’t apply to two abysmal games. A tangent and irrelevant point, (sarcastic comment).

The fact I’ve “taken the trouble” to comment on something from 30 days ago was actually no trouble as I only ready your comment for the first time, 5 minutes before I responded today. I hardly ever comment on here.

Re: DOOM Eternal Has Been Delayed, And The Switch Version Is The Most Heavily Affected

Shinobi1Kenoby

@GuruOfGreatness it you’re just being needlessly argumentative for no reason and clearly no guru.

Duke Nukem Forever wasn’t delayed for 14 years to improve the programming and build like these discussed with Doom Eternal. Duke Nukem Forever took 14 years as it went through several publishers and numerous law suits. Not one delay was “ we’re nearly there but need another 3-6 months to tighten up” it was all publishers and developers suing each other over contractual matters. Not a single one in the interest of the games quality.

Re: DOOM Eternal Has Been Delayed, And The Switch Version Is The Most Heavily Affected

Shinobi1Kenoby

Not sad at all. This happened loads in the 90’s and I was glad every time it did as it always meant what followed was the best that game could have been as developers couldn’t rely on DLC and patch updates. This is how a developer should make a game. Get it 100% on day one then DKC and updates are purely content based and not reactive maintenance patches. EA would do well to learn from this ethos. It’s not like they’ve been going for 3 decades or anything!
