@RappinRootbeer They are still fun, but the best way I can explain this is, they feel fragmented.
After reading up on how the supposed original idea was 3 games, it looks Capcom might have had this huge idea, but due to issues, just scrapped the supposed 3rd game and split in between the current two.
As, the article sates Oracle of Seasons has a barebones story, while Ages doesn't. However, playing the latter first, enhances the former.
My belief is due to the original idea failing, Capcom couldn't make this quite complete epic trilogy they wanted. As a result, some of the story ideas had to be scrapped because of limitations.
@BulbasaurusRex I don't know. I don't feel live action is the only way. It's just the Disney way.
Animation has evolved from how it was viewed back then to how it is viewed today. It's thanks to show's like Batman:TAS, Gargoyles, and few others society begin to see just because a show is directed at kids, doesn't mean it has to be treated as such.
You'll notice shows like Justice League and Teen Titans, took inspiration from shows like Batman and Batman: Beyond; and wasn't afraid to treat it's story with a level of seriousness that can be engaging for young audiences and adults.
Unlike in Japan, the west didn't value animation as a serious medium for a long time. Now we do.
So, what Im getting at here is, a Gargoyles remake wouldn't do anything to diminish the original. It will live or die own it's own merits just like upcoming live action version.
Without being bound by 90's limitations, it would allow more freedom to tell a woven story. I love Gargoyles, but there are moments where it feels like it's held back just a bit because of the time period.
With a fresh new coat of paint, it can tell a similar story, while also being free to dive to even deeper depths. Not only that, it can adapt the latest comics into animation form.
I would still enjoy a 4k remaster of Gargoyles though that doesn't require a monthly subscription.
@Baler I'm an old fan and this doesn't bother me in slightest. Not every old fan as permaglued nostalgia goggles to our head. About the films though, I don't see how any of the designs are edgy.
@HenryKibble I'm cool with a timeline, and lore when it's well thought out, and planned accordingly. Some of my favorite games have done this, and I enjoy an ever evolving story that gives characters a start and finish.
Everyone has their preferences. Some people just enjoy game play, while others enjoy a immersive world rich with storytelling.
Luckily, there's enough room for both to co-exist.
@Polvasti Your post reminds me a video that did a deep dive on why people decades prior appear "older" from our modern perspective despite being quite young in their time period.
It's quite amazing. For those of us in our 30's, young kids will look back on our late 90's; Early 2000's photos, and think us at 15, look like people in their mid 20's.
@samuelvictor I agree with you after reading the the review and everyone's reply.
I would suggest the author edit the review and remove the controversial part. I'm not saying that as to be mean or silencing anyone, but using certain words should reflect the reality behind it.
If anyone cares to read up on the history of the show, unloved stepchild is the wrong choice of words to use. By all accounts the show did decently for the time period it was in.
Im just saying it's not the right choice of words is all. Author could have selected something that more accurately reflects it's history.
Like "little classic of 90's" or "forgotten gem."
Unloved implies something sinister or shady. I get in text form, it's not easy to show intent, but at the same time a small correction wouldn't hurt.
@Primarina It's okay. Really it is. I had a family member who was like that all the time. We eventually stopped inviting him to any gatherings whatsoever.
I just wanted to say something as a warning to others who might engage them out of genuine curiosity only to be met with a rude response.
As you can read above, user JohnnyMind asked a question from a place of curiosity only to (unsurprisingly) be given a middle finger as answer.
@samuelvictor I think that's fine myself if I may interject. Sonic just isn't designed for such a game. Which is perfectly fine. Not every character can be thrown in every genre.
Sonic is at his best when it's just him alone. The extra cast has the potential to stand out on their own if Sega gave them all a chance.
Please don't think Im making a comparison here, just an observation.
Various game series over years have shown it's quite possible for the side characters to stand on thier own without the main star attached.
I think all it takes is for Sega to give Sonic a a mini break (Im not suggesting a long one), and see what they can do with the cast around him.
They each have special traits that I think the right genre would let them thrive. That would give Sega a chance to see how much fun they can have with everyone.
@LikelySatan I think you are just really bored. Honestly, is seems your brand of humor stems from a place of malice. Your brand of sarcasm isn't funny. It's just eye rolling.
Obviously, nothing I say matters, as it's just going to be noise to you, but I say it for anyone who scrolls by, to hopefully see and not engage.
There's enough toxicity around to last decades. Not every corner of the web needs to have it constantly.

@Aurumonado Because Daisy's original VA, Charles Martinet stepped down.

Re: Best Disney Nintendo Switch Games
Wow, I didn't expect Tron: Identity to be #1. Not my jam personally, but hey.
My only gripe is there's not much to pick from for a co-op experience. Or a really good variety of single player focused games outside of remasters.
My girlfriend, is a huge Disney megafan and the only worthwhile title here is Disney Illusion Island. The others look like mobile ports.

Re: Takashi Iizuka Explains Timeline Placement Of Sonic Superstars
@AlienX @samuelvictor We can also follow Sonic Prime's example and just say everything exists within a many-worlds interpretation.
I don't know if you ever heard of that, but the theory goes: For action you take, you create a parallel world.
There could exist an infinite number of Shadows, who all branched from every decision the original Shadow made over the course of Sonic Adventure 2.
