Boltgun has so much potential and it can be a fun game, but the development team absolutely sucks. They launched a nearly unplayable version on the Switch, proceeded with a physical release without fixing any issues, and now a DLC?
"Runs well on the Switch in both docked and handheld mode" Are you sure? Because every video I checked on YT so far shows severe frame drops as the game is running on a different engine than PC version. It was also ported by Slipgate Ironworks, which says a lot ...
@sanderev Judging by the video review and its price tag ... if anything, 5/10 is way too generous. Especially when you can get games like Abzu and Subnautica for more than half less.
I didn't even bother to finish the demo because of its poor performance on Switch. Judging by the videos and this review they didn't really improve it. So, how come this still deserves 6/10?
I'm looking forward to replaying this, but what Digital Foundry showed about Switch version looked more than just minor frame rate dips (unless there is a day 1 patch).
I know there was a lot of work involved in this remaster, but this is the second Nightdive game in a row where they are asking nearly 30 bucks, which is a lot compared to what you get with Quake and Quake 2.
What I don't understand is, how do these developers get funds to make such games that are clearly not gonna sell. There must be hundreds, if not thousand, of games on eShop that look like they were completely made by AI.
I expect to see things like Hi-Fi Rush, Laika, Contra, Planet of Lana, Blade Chimera.
I wish for updates on some FPS games: Ion Fury Aftershock, Turbo Overkill, Cultic, Amid Evil, Project Warlock 2 and Metroid Prime 2 (if its development was indeed outsourced).
I would be interested if this was something like Anniversary back in the day. But this just looks like like a lazy remaster by the same guys who butchered those two Jedi Knight games on Switch.
@smithyo Considering you're having problems navigating through the main menu, I don't think you held nearly enough controllers in your hands to realize how unergonomic the design of Switch is.
@Vyacheslav333 I used to think this way until I started using it, since playing any FPS with Y axis on Switch Lite without a grip turns into pain for me after 5 minutes. With gyro sensitivity set to high I can easily aim up and down by just slightly tilting the Switch. This way my thumb doesn't have to be bend awkwardly and I can play hours of Quake with no pain whatsoever. But considering some complainers like @smithyo have a problem even finding the settings to turn it off, I can see it being too complex for some.
Either way, I had high expectations for this remaster and I can easily say this is one of my favorites on Switch. 10/10 well deserved.
This game has some serious performance issues on PS4, so I am surprised it's worthy of a 9/10 on Switch.
Either way, Prodeus does a lot of things right, but there are better boomer shooters out there. I feel like a lot of weapons are underwhelming and the spawn system takes away most of the challenge.

No, thanks.
Re: Review: Slayers X (Switch) - A Fun But Basic Boomer Shooter That Lacks An X Factor
I was looking forward to this, but without gyro support it's a no from me.
Re: Review: Braid: Anniversary Edition (Switch) - Exquisite Commentary Elevates This Indie All-Timer
I don't know what is so ugly about this art-style for me, but to me the game is as unappealing as it was back in 2008 on XBLA.
Re: Review: Little Kitty, Big City (Switch) - Repetitive, But Oozes Charm From Every Paw
Interesting this is not the only review that's praising animation, but to me it looks really rough.

Re: Europa Is A Beautiful Adventure Game With Shades Of Studio Ghibli And Breath Of The Wild
Good design and lovely voiceover, but the gameplay is lacking. The movement is also quite painful in the demo.
Re: Atari And WayForward Join Forces For A New 'Yars' Metroidvania
Getting some ANNO: Mutationem vibes with character animation that belongs in a mobile game.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, April 17th 2024
Release date for Laika, Blade Chimera and Little Kitty, Big City and a quick look at Wrath releasing next week.
Re: Review: Contra: Operation Galuga (Switch) - Does The Series Proud, But Best Played Elsewhere
I didn't even bother to finish the demo because of its poor performance on Switch. Judging by the videos and this review they didn't really improve it. So, how come this still deserves 6/10?

Re: Review: Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! (Switch) - Game Freak's 3DS Gem Is Still A Prize Pony
At this point even 3DS ports have performance hiccups on Switch? Sheesh ...

Re: Another Crab's Treasure Is Looking Awesome As It Secures An April Release
Is it just me or is voice acting in this really annoying?
Re: Contra: Operation Galuga Gets Release Date, Free Demo Out Now
The price is a complete turn-off, no matter how good the demo is.

Re: Review: Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Switch) - An Easygoing, Kid-Friendly Remake That's Just Fine
Should've remade DK 94 instead. The demo was not bad, but I really hoped the game gets more challenging.
Re: Video: 12 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch In February 2024
Wait, Wrath is confirmed for February release but Dark Forces is not?
Re: Quake Releases Slave Zero X Prelude 'Episode Enyo' As A Free Add-On
Sadly it's crashing a lot, usually when loading the next level. Otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Re: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition Soars Onto Switch This July
A comparison trailer (PS4 & Switch) has been published on Youtube. It does look pretty impressive on Switch, to say the least.
Re: Quake Releases Slave Zero X Prelude 'Episode Enyo' As A Free Add-On
Wow, this actually looks more promising than Slave Zero X.
Re: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition Soars Onto Switch This July
If it has motion controls, I will gladly double dip on this one.
Re: Review: COCOON – A Unique, Worlds-Within-Worlds Puzzler That Left Us Buzzing
Does it really run nicely on Switch? Judging by gameplay videos on Youtube the frame drops are quite bad.
Re: Quake II Receives Its "First Major Update" On Nintendo Switch
Reduced railgun damage and that Berserker's new attack were the only thing keeping this from being 10/10 in my book. Really glad they patched it.

Re: Nintendo Direct September 2023: Time, Where To Watch, Our Predictions
Shadow drop or release date for Metroid Prime 2 & 3/Samus Returns with a proper announcement of MP 4.

Re: Mini Review: Nightmare Reaper - A Roguelite, Boomer-Shlooter Bloodbath
Big fan of such "doomer shooters", but its rough visuals, procedural generation and enormous price are a complete turn off.
I might pick it up if it ever reaches the price of Post Void, though.
Re: Review: Bayonetta Origins: Cereza And The Lost Demon - A Placid Prequel For Platinum's Star
Really enjoyed the demo(s) and I wouldn't have problems paying half price for it. But 60 bucks for a game with close to zero replay value? No, thanks.
