Re: Feature: "Unfinished Business" - Why Gilbert & Grossman Returned To Monkey Island

bmumble

Also, considering that no two Monkey Island games have had the same art style, I don’t understand the issue with the art… as long as it feels like a Monkey Island game, it’ll be great! I actually love and hate the new art style simultaneously, so that feels pretty weird, but the trailers so far have really invoked Monkey Island to me, so I’m all in!

Re: Return To Monkey Island Might Be The Last Game In The Series

bmumble

I hope the series lives on longer than I do! I love the games, and although I’m not sold on the art right now, I’m sure I’ll love it when I’m playing it 😂 Escape From Monkey Island looked pretty terrible too, especially since Curse looked so good… I agree with Ron Gilbert’s comments about moving forward. The art reminds me a lot of shadow puppets. I just want this game right now…

Re: Soapbox: What Makes A Game A Good Metroidvania Anyway?

bmumble

responsive controls, exploration and a sense of finding what you're looking for even though you don't know what you're looking for... For me, a good Metroidvania will have me muttering to myself as I try to to remember where I was going and thinking "where's that thing I saw that looks like it might be opened by this new thing that I've got"

Re: How To Use Bluetooth Headphones On Switch - Connect AirPods To Nintendo Switch

bmumble

for anyone interested, the Switch seems to really hate Sony bluetooth headphones/ear pods... because I'm having an awful time with it... and what makes things worse is - bluetooth audio doesn't work in local communication mode, which is annoying because that's how Pokemon Sword starts... in order to connect, I need to join internet in game, go out to the home menu to connect to my headphones, get back in the game which then tells me I've disconnected from the internet... then my headphones disconnect because I'm in local communication mode... hah.

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Make The 'Switch Sacrifice'?

bmumble

I don't care about the so-called 'graphical sacrifice' because I hadn't played Doom 2016, or Witcher 3 before they came out on Switch due to a lack of time to sit in front of my PC to play. What does bother me though, is that these games are 3 times more expensive on Switch because they're "new" -_-;

Re: Indie Devs Explain Why Their Games Are Successful On Nintendo Switch

bmumble

Indie games tend to have way more heart. Whereas a lot of the bigger AAA titles tend to attack our wallets with microtransactions, indie titles are just made for you to play the crap out of. I have sunk so many hours into Hollow Knight, and it's one of those games that is perfect for Switch's on-the-go play, yet still looks so beautiful when docked. I'm so glad I double-dipped and bought Hollow Knight on Switch, because even including the price of the PC version, both of them together is cheaper than most AAA titles and easily has enough content for hours of play.
