@kurtasbestos If they call it wiiii, we're gonna get more jokes about sounding like a kid on a rollercoaster @MasterGraveheart The wii already has netflix, usb keyboard support, and they're already changing the internet on it. The 3DS allows us to change our names and friends come up as what they named themselves, they'll probably have searches just like that and we will also be able to have multiple users under the same name that way. The shop is already being remade. @DJTriforce Nintendo added powerups instead of achievements to their games, if that doesn't give you a lasting appeal then look at the metroid prime games. You earned art galleries from the number of scans you had and your difficulty settings. I could turn off the notifications but it bothers me to know that people judge each other based on their gamerscore and that's just something that you can't ignore. If you have an option to hide people will just look down on them even more for "being too embarrassed to show it". That's why I like having super weapons, extra health, extra ammo, galleries, and theaters instead.
Well this is crazily blown out of proportion. first off there's no way I can fit a six inch touch screen on something that is also about the size of a handle for motion games. second of all if it had any descent resolution it would be over a hundred dollars per controller. (although it would keep the casuals off it) lastly I always believed the "Wii+ remote" would just have x and y added to it with of course much more under the hood and an amazingly madeover nunchuk. I highly doubt Nintendo was planning on announcing a new system this year but if people keep pushing them then we may get another Dreamcast.
@SigourneyBeaver I would have to disagree. Motion control is still the most revolutionary step the game industry has made since 3D. And the Wii still has DLC, an online marketplace, a web browser, online multiplayer, and Netflix. With a series of News and weather channels that the 360 & PS3 don't have. @Highwinter I still think the others would come running. Sony & Microsoft don't have to worry about what profit they make from any of their systems Since they both deal elsewhere leading their respective markets, they have plenty of funds that they can spoil on the gaming market just to stay ahead. I also think that people can be fooled by how small a company is. Nintendo has never been able to fit all their franchises on a single system. So they had to choose between casual, existing franchises or new franchises.
I really hope they don't announce it. The others will just attempt to one up them after they've seen it and then claim Nintendo is worthless again. Sony will probably make it compatible with whatever kind of TV they're trying to sell next. Although I would be all for a $100-$150 attachment that brings the wii up to HD and then send up a massive update on all previous games through a new hardrive in said attatchment. A guy can dream.
looks repetitive, short, confined and like N64 title. I only saw one enemy on screen at a time which makes me think that's all we'll ever see. Looks like a bad custom robo.
Honestly, I spent a few minutes with angry birds and thought it was pretty good and he needs to show some respect to massive games with at least 50 hours of content. ... but let's also look at the denotation of his statement. Nintendo 3DS needs a good sized 3DSware section with quality content for under ten bucks a piece to compete and maintain their image. They'll never achieve the volume of the apple marketplace with development kits costing 30x times that of apple kits. think subjectively
The only error I've had was when I brought it back out of sleep mode(I can't remember what I had been playing) and opened it up, the power light was on but the screen wasn't on. Not a big error but enough to note.
@44 the points system is being dropped. This is wise move on Nintendo's part. As many people have commented, forcing higher prices hurts the developers who want to sell at a dollar. That's reasonable but if a developer has a higher quality game and sells it 2 to 5 dollars it hurts them because they appear to be overcharging customers when in reality, that's the reasonable price. Nintendo is trying to revitalize the value of games.
I don't think Nintendo is trying to attack small developers. What they're trying to prevent is a service clogged with games that aren't even worth a dollar without outdated graphics and mechanics by someone who is just learning to use game development software. They are trying to regain the original intention of that Nintendo seal of quality.
To everyone who thinks Iwata is ignorant. He knows that there are two models. This is why I respect Nintendo. They don't want to charge monthly fees for online gaming. Although, they'll do it if demand is high enough. side note- after trying the 3DS at GDC today I can say that I doubt the NGP will be able to hold its graphics over Nintendo's head. The screenshots don't it justice. without 3D -borderline wii graphics, with 3D borderline PS3/Xbox 360 graphics.
I really wish doa was gonna be at launch. their website doesn't have an official release date. It shouldn't be 2 months later than expected just for translations.
can't wait for DOA Dimensions. Was really looking forward to that. If it was close enough in development stages to be considered for a launch title, it probably won't be more than two weeks behind launch. Picking up that and Asphalt 3D. I never want to go back to racing games without tilt control. Still a great lineup though.
Yay, New Super Mario Bros 3. Well if they do make a level builder they could massively spread levels via streetpass (or whatever it's called). Just set every player to have one level to pass off.
Oh wow, I didn't realize that Nintendo had really upped the battery life too. 3D takes a lot of life. @MasterGraveheart I've heard money burning a hole in my pocket but I know that will...
@SKTTR actually Link's Awakening DX is just being put on the virtual handheld instead of a full remake. I could just do with a collection of the 2D zeldas.
@DOMA play it and give it an honest effort to enjoy it before you bash it. It is a really fun game and this is coming from I guy who has played through a lot of first person shooters and adventure games. @3 I play both.
I don't what you guys are talking about. In America, You still vastly see the good games outnumber the bad at gamestop. And if you think It will be remembered poorly, didn't we see a news announcement a few weeks ago saying it had reached the milestone of bestselling handheld of all time?!
If that's 4 player co-op, then that's awesome. Also the super powered attacks look amazing. It looks like it could be on 3DS too because I don't see any use of one handed motion.
@ I understand what you mean. Other M is a great game. I think most of the problems people point out revolve around plot issues, and concepts (concentration makes as much sense as missiles from bats) though and differences from the original game which were mostly good such as the use of missiles. I'm still looking forward to this game full heartedly. I've played the first 2 street fighters and DOA looks much more solid and less combo driven.
NINTENDO DOES HAVE ACHIEVEMENTS! Except they're called something different. They're known as heart pieces, quivers, TM's, Missile expansions, super short cuts(mario kart 64) and 1ups. Nintendo just gives you more than a number as an reward.
I don't think I need to play this game again. I beat it twice on N64 and thrice on Gamecube and it's probably going to show up on every console from here on out because it's "the best game of all time". It's a good game but move on. If they were going to release this one again it should've been bundled with the system.
This probably just means how many times you can transfer a single game so that people can't just feed their DSiware to all their friends who are new to it.
Sony is like the guy waiting at the very start of the conveyor belt and grabbing anything that looks remotely etible. Then when they realize that they missed a really good one, they find another close enough and claim they got it first. The idea still sticks.
They're all good systems but if you look at the companies themselves their systems draw their origins and feel from that market. PS3 feels like an entertainment center with a variety of up to date hardware, xbox with a computer feel with all it's file management and online features, and nintendo feels like it's more geared for fun and individuality as all it's features are directly related to gameplay instead of sight & sound.
The game isn't that bad. People have been wanting a copy of all stars since the wii came out and it wasn't suited to sell this for 800 points or on wiiware. Give them a break be happy with what you got.
@65 actually, I thought deadspace extraction was a pretty deep on rails shooter for what they gave us and you are right on the money about the plot. Still don't have much of a clue what was going on. @kdognumba1 I agree with every one of your points, thank you for your insight.

Re: Your First Look at Pandora's Tower is Below These Words
Looks pretty good. It still doesn't look like something Nintendo would do though. Maybe it's a new second party.

It actually looks like decent gameplay but they should have used any other theme whatsoever.

@silverblacktail yeah reminds of that one too. Looks good, I just hope there's a good number of tracks. Surprised it wasn't 800 points.

I honestly would have bought this one. It looked light hearted and fun, maybe it'll be revived for download. I can only hope.

Re: Monster Tale
I think this game looks amazing. but it also looks like the next shantae due to its release time, obscure style, and lack of advertisement.
Re: Curl Up Around this Cosy Fire on Friday, Europe
although this is good if you're hosting a party in which your TV is exposed. It kinda seems more classy.
