Wow, that video didn't exactly build my confidence for this game. Terrible graphics, terrible voice acting, and the gameplay didn't impress me either. I'm not really sure what you guys see in this game, but I'd I really like to know what it is.

The game looks a bit too simplistic to offer any real strategic depth or maneuvering. That said, I like the idea, but restricting combatants to a small, no frills grid space seems like a recipe for failure.

This game didn't really do much for me; that isn't to say that I don't like these types of games; I just found this one to be mediocre. I've been playing Mario rpg's ever since Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was released, so I've had plenty of experience with the genre.

Dang, I wasn't expecting such a high score; the metacritic scores are also very high. Looks like a great year for gaming, but I think this year could very well be outdone by the next.

@Token Girl: Had you just waited a couple of days you could have bought the game in your own country and in your own language for less money.

I just recently spent some time playing the swordplay events in the game; I've had the game for some time, but this is the first time I've actually got around to playing it. Based on my initial impressions of the swordplay events, I think it could totally revolutionize how we play video games. Very fun stuff; I can only imagine what it would be like to have the same fluid swordplay in a sandbox game like Oblivion.

Once the DSi acquires a bigger library of games and has more exclusive titles that take advantage of the DSi's tech, I think more people will feel the pressure to purchase a DSi.

That said, this is the first I've seen of Flipper, and you really can't go wrong for 200 points. The game's aesthetics have me intrigued.

X-Men Arcade sounds like a great idea; as long as it's at least four players, I'm in. While we're at it, the Alien Vs. Predator beat-em-up would also be a great addition. The only downside is that they're third-party titles, so I'm not sure if Nintendo has much say in it. That being said, at least they know what the fans want.

2. Any and all arcade titles; I'd like to see WAY more arcade games in general on a weekly basis if possible.

6. Terranigma (I know it's not a first-party title and it's an import title by Square-Enix)

I really liked your first comment; I never thought of a game as being perfectly bad in every regard. That really is some achievement! I usually find something of some merit in a game, but I suppose Waterworld is an exception to the rule.

This kind of review makes me want to see nintendolife compose a list of the top 20 worst games, but I imagine that would be a large-scale and time-consuming effort.

I really love all the attention the Virtual Boy's been getting; keep up the good work, guys.

If any of you Americans are interested, Gamefly is currently slated to have Little King's Story in stock on 7/23/2009. Assuming that the date doesn't change in the near future (I doubt it will), you can probably expect to see it at retail two days prior to the aforementioned date.

You could try respecting Shinnok's opinion, but none of his points are actually valid. Sponge had an excellent rebuttal by stating that Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 actually have LESS variety than Super Mario Bros. 2. Furthermore, I don't recall Shinnok showing any respect to the ones he was arguing against.

Sony always copies Nintendo/improves upon Nintendo's ideas, and it always benefits them. The PS1 had a clear lead over the N64 when they ripped off the rumble pack and analog stick. In retrospect, anyone who calls themself a Playstation fan would be lying if they said that the aforementioned innovations weren't important. The bulk of most current-gen games today incorporate analog stick controls. Being a PS3 owner, I'm actually pretty excited about it because: 1) Given the copious amount of first-person shooters available on the system, having a controller that could provide precision aiming would be great.Think about it; no more tank turret controls to contend with! 2) Real-time strategy titles would benefit greatly, and I'm sure we'd see more of them. 3) From what I've heard, Sony is developing a break-apart controller that largely remains faithful to the physical design of the Six Axis controller, so it shouldn't be difficult or awkward to get accustomed to.

Admittedly, the first Red Steel had some glaring design flaws that really hurt it overall. However, there was one level in that game that simply blew me away; it reminded me of Arcade's "Murderworld" ala Marvel comics. To this day, it is the single-most original/engrossing level I have ever seen in any fps, and I play all the big name console shooters, as well as, the lesser-known titles like the Time Splitters series. "Murderworld" is essentially a carefully constructed carnival of terrors filled with numerous perils, traps, and enemies, which was designed for the sole purpose of killing its captives.

For me, tower defense games are fun for a while, but as time wears on they become repetitive. My main gripe is that you're limited to simply defending territories, but I think the ability to launch offensive maneuvers would help balance out these types of games.

Yeah, where would the richest gaming company in the F%*KING world find enough money to settle a legal dispute? I already own the game; got it for free actually. However, the VC was Earthbound's one chance to gain leverage in the states, and that's all over now. There weren't any legal disputes to speak of when the game was first released in America, but NOW there are; I don't believe it. In my 19 years of playing video games I've never played anything quite like Earthbound; it literally changed my life. Can't believe it's come to this. What a sad state of affairs.

You guys are complaining about this way too much. Even if you don't like rpg's, Nintendo did decide to release one of the best ever made. They've been releasing mediocre titles for some time now, and it's a nice change of pace for them to release something this good regardless of what genre it is.

Guys, you really need to lay off Nintendo; with their money troubles, they really can't afford a convenient storage solution right now. Many times Mr. Miyamoto doesn't even know where his next meal is coming from; if you recall, the only game he actually made for the Wii was Super Mario Galaxy, and he can't live off the money from that project forever! You people expect far too much from Nintendo; they put their britches on the same way you do! If you prick them, do they not bleed?

Well, I owned Alien Crush when it was a VC title; it's decent. I don't see the point in owning a pretty good game like Star Soldier R when there are much better shmups on the VC, and everyone's played Tetris in some form or another. I detest sims like My Aquarium; they quickly become boring for me, but I know some people who enjoy the genre. However, Bomberman Blast would be something to get excited over. Btw, if anyone has been so caught up with Wii-Ware that they haven't checked out Bionic Commando Rearmed for the PC, 360, and PS3, shame on you.

It's usually the quirky racing titles, like R.C. Pro Am, that really stand out from this era. Galaxy 5000 and Excite Bike are pretty good, but I never cared much for Mach Rider (both nes games). Nintendo should consider a contemporary remake of Mach Rider; there's a lot of potential with that one.

If I'm not mistaken, Hideo Kojima's first game was totally rejected by the people at Konami, and the people he worked with treated him badly for his lack of inexperience. After completing Metal Gear, everything turned around for him. I think Luc should have stuck it out a bit longer, and proved that he was capable of making a good game. Quitting his job only reaffirms the beliefs of all those jerks that had it in for him.
