@kmtrain83 Gameplay was fine. The issue came when jumping between games. I don't just play one game for the day, I play a bunch. And many of those are on cards, so, the inconvenience of losing my card slot to play what amounts to a digital game is a huge detriment to me. For example, I'll do my daily run in Animal Crossing (both on cards), then play some of my daily digital games like My Hero Ultra Rumble and Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, then move on to wanna play whatever game(s) I'm working on at the moment, which include Cyberpunk 2077 and Street Fighter 6. Cyberpunk is a physical edition for me, but SF6 is the GKC. If SF6 is installed on the system as if it were a digital copy, why am I bothering with a physical card?
What would make the GKCs more bearable is if you only had to have it installed, say, once a week or two weeks as something of an authentication check-in, then be able to keep the slot free after. It wouldn't be great, but to have that convenience of the freed up card slot would be huge for me.
We know Nintendo is keeping the smaller cards to themselves, which is not okay in of itself. The next question is: What's the cost difference between a 64GB card and a Game Key Card. If the amount is relatively small, then we can easily accuse the big companies of being cheap, especially considering how inexpensive a 64GB card is these days.
THAT SAID!
It's also just as likely that Nintendo is being greedy on the subject and they're letting the success of the Switch 1 adversely affect the Switch 2 out of the gate. It's my hope that this situation course-corrects.
Because as of right now, I have no incentive to wanna buy "Game Key Cards." I tried it out with Street Fighter 6, but I don't like it, frankly. Using my physical slot to play a digital game is honestly awful. I'm passing on the Dragon Quest I & II "physical" editions because of it. The only game I would buy it for again at this point is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and only if it had one of those nice deluxe editions. Otherwise, this might be the generation that makes me go primarily digital, which is likely the end goal here.
I honestly don't think this deserves too much deep lore thought. Things will change with characters on a whim. It's just like Zelda and the supposed timelines. Some games are loosely connected, some are standalone, don't lose sleep, people.
Not everything needs every box checked for lore and detail stuffs.
I don't think the SYSTEM price was ever the question. It was always software prices, and those can always course-correct, no matter how unlikely it actually is.
Stick to your guns, people. If you don't like the prices, don't buy full price.
I mean, don't stress yourselves out over it. If it does, it does, if it doesn't, it doesn't. I doubt the Call of Duty fanboys will wanna jump to a Nintendo platform. For them, it's realism or nothing.
Hold up... a single-player Splatoon game? Yeah, okay, I'm on board!
Please don't ruin this with a multiplayer mode. I know it's your bread-and-butter, and it's much-loved, but please, give some of this goodness to the single player fans that won't get shut down when the servers close down.
I'm going to reiterate the absolute truth of Metroid: Other M.
> The gameplay was quite good. > The characterization sucked for just about everyone not named Anthony. > The stages were largely great! > The way they handled the upgrades also sucked.
It's a 7/10 game, because the gameplay is that good and there were some incredible set pieces... but so much else didn't work.
Pokémon used to mean something. Now it’s a soulless cash grab. Been this way since Generation VII.
Do better, GameFreak. Nintendo, crack the whip if you need to. You’re part owner. Tell them to stop making a Pokémon game and start making a Nintendo game.
No, I'm an anti-social hermit. Leave me alone while I play my single player experiences. XD

"Why make GREAT when GOOD sells better?!" ~GameFreak, probably
I seriously wanna see a Pokemon game that looks modern one day. So much has been recycled at this point. I think it's time for the franchise to get a bit of a polish job. New models, new art style for the PCs, more detail, voice acting, choices with weight (don't MAKE me betray Kieran! I can betray him myself! XD), that kinda thing.
I'd certainly love to see Rebirth and Return (what I'm tentatively calling Part 3 because of the soundtrack theory) on Switch 2! I love these characters and would also seriously wanna see Tifa in the next Smash Bros. Maybe even Zack as an echo fighter and Aerith and Barret as assists, if not a full-fighter for Barret.
I mean, Aerith /could/ work as a fighter. But she might be at a disadvantage with all the sword fighters in the series. (sorry...)
No Game Key cards for me. I want my physical games to actually contain the game on it. I tried to see the advantages, but, found little. I want to buy physical games to save space on my system, but, if I have a digital game, I want to keep my card slot free for a physical game, like right now. I actively play Animal Crossing via a digital game, and Xenoblade Chronicles X and Pokemon Scarlet as a physical. The convenience of the two-pronged approach is meaningful to me.
I'd sooner go to an all-digital format, but while physical media is still being made, I'm going to continue to purchase physical and keep the games forever while not being burdened with the "game license" clauses. To me, the game key card is another cumbersome form of DRM.
tl;dr: If I'm getting a digital game, just let me keep the physical slot clear for a physical game.
I’ve warmed up to the new look, so, I’m good with it, but I wish they didn’t wholesale change it. Just add the new look as a new icon instead of replacing it. Give people the options.
Although, thinking now, it was available as a reward in the NSW icon catalog, wasn’t it?
What bugs me most is that you NEED the key card IN THE CARD SLOT to play the DIGITAL game. That was the deal breaker for me to just go digital for these "game key-card" releases. It just makes both digital and physical games worse.
Personally, it might be Nintendo's way of conditioning us for an inevitable all-digital future. Not a future I look forward to.
For preservation's sake? I think we absolutely SHOULD get the HD remakes again this gen. Wii U was going on a decade ago now, so there's no excuse. The original and HD are different play experiences.
I know they wanna have that red bar at the top for brand identification, but, I'd like to humbly suggest it be semi-transparent instead of solid. That way we can get a hint of what's in the background while still keeping the visual identity.
I voted through the list above, but of those not listed? I want Silksong, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, and The DuskBloods. In fact, you could say those three are probably among my most wanted. I'm shocked they aren't listed here.
@Spider-Kev Not sure I'd call the JoyCon wrist strap strip of plastic a suitable dock. I'm thinking something wider. Kinda like the old Wii Mario Kart wheel.
You know what the mouse needs? A cheap plastic bracket to set the JoyCon in so it has a wider base to slide on. I'm worried I'm going to be in an intense firefight in something like Metroid or Doom, and end up toppling over as I slide it around whatever surface I use. A wider platform to set it in would be nice, and would probably not cost much.
There is no bright side. Get angry. Get mad. And aim it at the current administration. Bear down at him and his goon followers. Let the torrent of criticism and rage be nonstop. Protests work. EA hasn't been relevant on a Nintendo console since... probably SNES? When was the last time EA ever had a series of games on the platform that had a significant impact or presence?
Honestly, at this point, just give me the Sims Legacy Collection and a Road Rash Collection. Simple, quick, dirty, not like we'll get Mass Effect, and we're done.
I'll definitely be picking this one up. It's interesting, now I'm crunching numbers in my head. The Steam page is listed at 70GB minimum required. This fits on a 64GB. While certainly there'll be some graphical compromises, it's got me thinking ahead to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (this trilogy was on my Switch 2 wish list), which has about 100GB for Steam size. Now, Switch 2, even in 4K docked, isn't reaching the PC releases file size and if we try and compare graphical size needs to...
I've "notoriously" said some pretty harsh things about the redesign after the original reveal in the Mario Kart World teaser a few weeks ago (dumpy-looking was the word I used, I think), but my opinion did a complete 180 once I saw how much more vibrant and animated he was yesterday. Now I love it!
I think I'll always be partial to the more "don't mess with me" style the Country-version DK was, but this was SO much better and put the new Donkey Kong in his best light.

I think this goes to show that we need something more like the Netflix or iTunes of gaming (in concept, not necessarily practice, don't downvote me yet!). Something that can be accessed on multiple different platforms, easy to sift through, play on a subscription basis... something to preserve older games. I know it's not perfect, but something that can help with the preservation. Especially for obscure and rare titles like this one. Sure, you'll get stubborn Nintendo, Sony, Capcom, or whatever trying to do their own thing forever and eternity, but games preservation is a huge deal, and in the relative early stages of its life cycle, we need to see more done for preservation, and no, piracy of often-shoddy roms isn't enough (not to say I'm against game piracy these days with the way the biggest companies have been acting). Much of cinema and literature's earliest days are lost, and games are at risk of falling prey to this without better preservation.
Not being interested in the gatcha games (aside from Go for the shiny chances alone), it still somehow sunk below my expectations. I was excited for Z-A, but after seeing it, my excitement was actually tempered from seeing the graphics and the poor scaling (what did they do to Onix?!).
My other big hope was for shiny cover legendary raids or gifts for Scarlet and Violet and we get... Rotom phone covers, pseudo-legendary raids and starter raids. I mean, starters, fine, but, they're not necessarily exciting, y'know? At least there'll be shiny chances.
Like, again, my expectations were low, but... wow.
At least I got a few Shiny Genesect and Tornadus last night. That was MY Pokémon Day!
I want my Black & White remakes, but I don't want it to be like they were for BDSP. I don't want a bare-minimum graphics upgrade, and certainly not in that style. I wanna see it be the Scarlet & Violet graphical style with all the bells and whistles. Find a way to hybrid it with Black 2 & White 2, and we're golden.
Stuff like this is why I'm always weary of reproduction cartridges, especially for games that weren't originally on the systems they were made for. Which sucks, because I do wanna play Sweet Home at some point.
