The next big Pokémon game is scheduled to launch on 16th October 2025, and it's coming to not one, but two Nintendo consoles.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will come out on the original Switch, but there's also a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launching on the exact same day, which will have improved visuals and better frame rates.
Whichever version of Lumiose City you plan on be exploring in October, below we've rounded up the best Legends: Z-A pre-order deals we can find from all the big retailers in the US and UK.

Pre-Order Pokémon Legends Z-A On Switch 1
Here's where you can pre-order an original Switch version of the game in the US, Canada, and the UK - and just as with the Switch 2 versions, My Nintendo Store in Europe has a bunch of bundle deals (while stocks last):
Are There Any Pre-Order Bonuses For Pokémon Legends Z-A?

In the UK, yes, and it's probably only a matter of time before the US follows suit. My Nintendo Store has pre-order bonus goodies for the physical and digital editions, both of which will come with a 'Partner Pokémon Figurine' bonus (while stocks last).
It's a sweet little standee, featuring the game's three Starters — Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile — and a neat bonus.
There are also bundles available with a whole bunch of goodies, including a Mega Evolution cap, Mega Charizard figurines, pins, mugs and an umbrella.

If you're going digital, remember that NSO Game Vouchers still work on Nintendo-published Switch 1 games, and then you can separately purchase the upgrade pack for Switch 2. This saves $10 over the price of buying the digital version outright (whether or not you get the upgrade).
I purchased a pair of NSO game vouchers the day before they stopped offering Gold Points for digital purchases, so I got a $5 discount for my $100 in addition to saving $10 per game for the two games I'm redeeming the vouchers on: Pokemon Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

Ah. I forgot about that!
For massive deal games like this, I tend to go physical though.
For me it depends:
Digital games are a lot more convenient to switch in and out of. I typically only buy physical if it's (1) heavily discounted or bought used and/or (2) a single player game that I will more or less dedicate my cartridge slot to until I've finished the game and moved on to another one.
Anything I want to be able to drop in and out of quickly (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Splatoon, etc.) I will heavily prefer digital. Same with games I want to add to my library permanently (anything Zelda and a lot of the AAA Mario games).
I don't see much value in video games as a physical collectible/displayable object, though I do collect amiibo and sometimes other figures.
How come Amazon NA doesn't have the for PreOrder? Did the Divorce of Nintendo not letting Amazon sell Switch 2 consoles now translate to 1st party games now?
