*deep breath* There was a Nintendo Direct this week! And it was chock-a-block full of games. But the big news is that we, at last, know the name (and release date) of Breath of the Wild's follow-up. RIP The Sequel to... The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a lot less of a mouthful, to be honest. And that box art is... well, art.
Other Direct highlights include Pikmin 4 actually, really existing, a brand new Fire Emblem game with a toothpaste-haired protagonist, and Octopath Traveler II bringing more HD-2D goodness to the Switch.
Elsewhere, we broke down the new Zelda trailer in extreme detail and took a look back at Xenoblade Chronicles 3 developer Monolith Soft's history with Nintendo, who just happens to be working on Tears of the Kingdom. But we also made time to review the MMO Pokémon-like Temtem, and we were pretty impressed!
Now, some of our wonderful writers have shared what their plans are for the weekend below and we would love to hear what you guys are up to in the comments below! Happy reading!

Remember when I left on vacation believing I would complete Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in said period of absence? The 100th hour is coming up on my save data and as far as I can tell I’m nowhere near the end.
Add a splice of SD Gundam Battle Alliance hectic combat and grind-heavy upgrades along with the sad realization I’m nowhere near as good as I remember at Radiant Silvergun and that's my weekend sorted... Assuming I can stay away long enough from Splatoon 3, River City Saga Three Kingdoms and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R. 48 hours just isn't enough.

I've just downloaded the Harvestella demo — I don't usually bother with demos, but this one I think requires me trying it out for myself. I love farming-type games, but I'm not a massive fan of Square Enix JRPGs... they're too long, and there are too many characters. Admittedly, so are farming games. But it's different!!!
So far it seems nice but it's been pretty much one long cutscene. I hope I get to do something soon. Also, is it just me, or is it almost exactly the plot of Bloodborne???

With the recent gameplay demonstrations of Bayonetta 3 leaving me feeling a bit… well, deflated, for lack of a better word, I’ve gone back to Bayonetta 2 to try and get myself back in the mood again. I would go back to the first game, but I’m just not sure I’ll have the time to get through both of them before the end of October, so this will have to do. And yes, it’s still a masterpiece in action gameplay!
Elsewhere, I’m playing through Death Stranding on the PS5, with all those ‘Director’s Cut’ additions and whatnot. It’s a really good game to just chill out with when I want to wind down; walking across the beautiful terrain whilst listening to the glorious music of Low Roar definitely makes for some memorable moments. It took me a few attempts to really appreciate Death Stranding, but now I just can’t get enough of it.

Blimey, what a Direct that was. At least for me anyway. I've got some work to get done this weekend, so there won't be too much gaming for me. Because I think I need more RPGs and farming sims in my life, I'll be snatching up the demos for Harvestella and Jack Move on Switch. But also, I won't shut up about the new Theatrhythm game, Final Bar Line, so to satiate my appetite, I'm digging out my 3DS to play some Curtain Call!
Honestly, it's probably going to be a heavy Final Fantasy weekend. I've been dragged back into Final Fantasy XIV on PS5 thanks to the 'Call Back Campaign' — so that's any other free time I may have gone. Oh well. See you next week, folks!

This weekend will be much like the last few for me: a struggle to squeeze any quality gaming time in at all! I’ve recently moved house and any free moment I get is spent surrounded by towers of still-not-unpacked boxes making me feel guilty for watching an episode of The Boys before bed instead of tidying things away.
I have managed to play one game a little bit over the past couple of weeks, and I’d love to be able to spend some more time with it – with an eye to reviewing it for you lovely people. Please, Touch The Artwork has been great company so far, a handheld-only puzzler with striking visuals and a brilliant sense of humour.
The premise is way too complex to explain in the space I’ve got here, but this video I was linked to a while back featuring the developer himself does a good job of introducing things.

I’ve had a problem of starting a slew of new games this summer but never committing to finishing them, but that changed this week! I managed to roll the credits on Attack of the Friday Monsters, Elite Beat Agents, Later Alligator and even Immortality on Xbox (don’t tell our bosses, please!) While I still have a few games on my docket to finish (I’m looking at you Death’s Door & Digimon Survive) I’m thinking it may be okay to start something new!
While the campaign for Splatoon 3 looks incredibly enticing, I’m thinking I’ve had this incredible urge to bust out my GameCube and play through something on my old school CRT tube TV! I did start up Metroid Prime earlier this week, and while I should realistically stick with it since I’ve never really played it before, another part of me wants to dive into the Master Quest disc I own for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time… the classics will always have a hold on me I swear. But now Tunic is coming to switch and Omori is collecting dust on my shelf! What do I do? Someone, please send help!
As ever, thank you for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, still. I haven't played anything else since it launched. I am now 105 hours in, and am at the start of Chapter 5. I actually started this chapter at the 80 hours mark, and haven't moved the story on since! There is just so much to do in this game, with big side quests, and exploring, and foraging, and expanding skill sets... it really is incredible. It still very much has its teeth into me. I fear that I am over-levelled now (70), but oh well! Have a great weekend, guys, and take great care of yourselves out there.
I’m approaching 30 hours into Yakuza 0.
I’ve waited a long time to finally try the series and it is not disappointing. After a slow start time now melts away and you have to remember to actually progress the story.
This weekend i'll be playing
Tower Unite (PC)
Tabletop Simulator (PC)
The Movies (PC)
Soul Hackers 2 (PC)
I'm nearing the end of my second playthrough of Xenoblade 3. Currently have over 270 hours clocked on that game.
I've also been playing some Street Fighter Anniversary Collection in anticipation of Street Fighter 6.
I’m 90 hours into Xenoblade 3 and doing some cleaning up with the last few Hero Quests before moving on to what looks like to be the final few hours. With Soulstice and Deathloop right around the corner I’m gonna focus squarely on Xenoblade before diving into them.
Xenoblade 2, chapter 7, my dudes! Happy weekend!
With Bayonetta 3 not far from release I've decided to get Bayonetta 1 and 2 on Switch and replay them. I haven't really played them since I got the games in late 2014 on Wii U. Bayonetta 1 has been action packed fun so far but not a fan of the QTEs. While playing Bayonetta I'll be waiting for my copy of Splatoon 3 to be delivered by Currys. Another series I haven't played much of since the Wii U as well. Never felt compelled much to play Splatoon 2 but with 3 that urge is coming back. And if I can find some time a little more of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. 180 hours and it feels like this game never ends.
Today for the first time in nearly two months I played a game that wasn't Xenoblade 3 on my Switch. So that was fun.
On PlayStation... Gran Turismo 7 and F1 2021. Can't be bothered to get the new one.
Age of Empires: Castle Siege (Android) - Coming back to finish this off finally.
World At War (Windows Phone) - Enjoying this so far.
Temple Run 2 (Windows Phone) - Still enjoying playing this in bursts.
Just started Atelier Ryza 2 last night.
On a Doom-kick lately. Beat Doom 1 co-op last night and replaying Doom 2016 now
This week I will be mostly playing
Splatoon 3
Phantasy Star
Pokémon Shuffle
Shantae
Xenoblade 3. Final battle. Might try out the Harvestella demo. Amiga games.
I am on chapter 4 of Dark Chronicle now. Today I should look up how to win the fishing contest.
Happy gaming everyone.
I’m still playing Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I’ve been playing nothing else for getting on for two months now, and really can’t see myself giving either game a rest anytime soon.
I’m also thinking of picking up NEO: The World Ends With You over the weekend as it’s currently half price on the eShop. I adored the demo, so why not, right? Or should I stump up an extra £25 and pick up Xenoblade Chronicles 3 instead? It looks gorgeous… but with very complicated combat. I really can’t make my mind up. NEO or Xeno?
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
On PS5 i will continue with Soul Hackers 2 but I have to admit I'm getting quite bored now, to point where I've abandoned the axis dungeon and just focussing on the story. I have just had my copy of Soulstice arrive so I will be playing that at some point.
On the Switch I will be giving Xenoblade chronicles 3 a rest so that I don't finish it before the next dlc pack comes out in October, got to get that new character and those all important swimsuits 😜, so instead I will be playing Pikmin 3 Deluxe which will be my first ever Pikmin game, time see what the fuss is about.
And on Series S I will be playing Yakuza 0, I've played an hour this morning and I like it so far, failed miserably at the karaoke mini game but I'm not 100% with the xbox controller yet, still forget where the XYBA buttons are when things get hectic.
Disaster Report 4. First time playing a game in this series and I absolutely love it. In some ways it reminds me of all my time favourite game Shenmue 1 ❤️
It's currently on sale in UK for £17.99 on eShop, though only for another 37 hours, then goes back to it's original price of £53.99 (!)
Given the Splatoon 3 update apparently fixes the very common communication error occurrences, I'll return to that to focus more on the multiplayer side. Also DioField Chronicle demo, I want to finish it before the full game comes out next week.
There's so much going on in the very near future for Switch and nowhere near enough time for it all.
I fancy taking bites across a wide variety of installed Switch items this weekend, maybe even finding time to go through some of the library in alphabetical order, especially since I may find myself shelving some of them for the time being afterwards - my SD card is traditionally stuffed to the brim, and I just reluctantly ditched a few recently played games like Braveland and Boost Beast (Aground I'm definitely squeezing back onboard!) to so much as update Little Noah which almost doubled its size out of the blue (accomodating the paid DLCs in advance?).😅
But even then, I'm not gonna pretend I won't likely spend the better part of these days' gaming time between the more usual suspects like Xenoblade 3 and the unexpectedly reignited Isaac playthrough (after a bowsillion restarts I have actually unlocked Forgotten and even did two victory laps before getting nerfed on and unfortunately failing the last achievement-related third - if you know, you know). RF5, the previous Xenoblades, Cruel King and Fuga, Danganronpa and Torchlight 2 also sport higher odds than the rest. A selection of variably sized sessions outside Switch is also among the itches to scratch, with stuff like Unwound Future, RE2, Eternia and possibly a shot (no pun intended) at Bullet Girls Fantasia across my other platforms seemingly particularly probable.
Splatoon 3 for me. My copy came late in the post (only got it Tuesday) so have been playing catch up with all those day one players the last few days.. I feel abit rusty.
It's a great game, more of the same like Splatoon 2 but tinkered to perfection. It should keep me busy for a while. 👍
Other than that, playing Forza Horizon 5 is my current go to for a few quick races in between playing the Splatoon 3 multiplayer...
Splatoon 3 - Thanks @queen_ditto for the recommendation multiplayer is such fun! Although I don't win many matches, running through the enemy with my splat roller just feels good 😀
Super Mario 3D World - I am at the final level and it's REALLY beating me....
Celeste - final level, now I need to collect all the crystal hearts so I can continue on. BTW this game is HARD!!
Harvestella Demo - I am so into it unfortunately it's just a demo I cannot wait for it to come out. Great game so far although I've never played a farming game before so my expectations are pretty low.
Cowabunga! Collection for some relaxation from the previous games, I am at the third game on the NES.
Happy gaming folks!!!
Splatoon 3 is the only given. I mean, how can you resist? My wife is hooked and now I am too and we have to share!
Otherwise, I did try the Wo Long and Valkyrie Chronicles demos last night, walked away from them feeling, “meh.”
Elsewhere, perhaps I’ll get deeper in Haiku, the Robot, which I feel like perhaps I’m far deeper into the game than I realized during my last session because I uncovered a lot of the map in two hours of playing it. Last night, I also finally booted up that PS5 version of RE2, and promptly fell asleep while setting it up. Maybe it’s finally getting to be time for it? I’m plenty excited for Village’s DLC and what better time to crunch through RE2 and 3 than before new RE?
@BigBoo The Cowabunga collection is what I plan to play next! Are you going through all the games or skipping any?
@UltimateOtaku91 how are you finding Pikmin 3? With the announcement i'm thinking about picking it up so I can play through it before the announcement next year.
I started Alien Isolation last night, only about 30 minutes in, I love the atmosphere!!
My current rotation of games on include Splatoon 3, Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak and Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. I'll likely buy Metro 2033 while it's on sale for less than $3 but I'm not sure when I'll get around to it.
Splatoon…Splatoon…and more Splatoon. Nothing else is gonna get a look in for the next two months at least. My physical Deaths Door may get a chance when it arrives.
🐸 Frogger and the Rumbling Ruins on Apple Arcade, where joy-cons are finally supported.
More splatoon and dbd!
I'll start playing Disney Dreamlight Valley this weekend now that the Switch update is out. And I'll keep happily grinding away on Splatoon 3 in preparation for next week's Splatfest. Go Team Gear!
However, I'm still having some issues with the lobbies. I want to love the new Battle Lobby so much but I feel like it's become too bloated for the game's own good. I'll continue starting over in the Battle Pot most of the time instead of choosing to keep going.
Went to a second hand shop and found a copy of Unirally complete for my SNES and a N64 cleaning kit complete like new so I will be firing up the SNES to play Unirally and clean my N64 so I can play some 64 games without the need of an internet connection 😜
@BigBoo Oh I'm so glad you're having fun with multiplayer! Yeah, I often get splatted a lot too, but with practice I've found that I've gotten better over time. And it's not that important to win, it's more important to have fun! Also love Super Mario 3D World, I should replay it soon.
For myself, I finished up the main story of Ooblets, so I mostly plan on playing more Splatoon this weekend lol
Splatoon 3 for me, still loving it. Maybe some Wulverblade as I’ve started on that again - maybe I’ll get past the second level this time! I like it, I’m just not all that good at arcade games
My daughter is watching me play through Klonoa: Door to Phantomile from our physical copy of the Phantasy Reverie series. It's always been one of my all time favourite games, so it's nice to be able to share it in some capacity with her.
I played PS4 games in the morning. 🙂

1. Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles
2. Youtubers Life 2
In the afternoon, I played Switch games.

1. Animal Crossing New Horizons
2. Paper Mario: The Origami King
This past week or so I have gone back to Stardew Valley. After more than a year away, it was easy to come back and I am in a satisfying game loop. Also trying the Harvestella demo, so far so good, more wordy than I anticipated, but it is the beginning of the game. And a little Rocket League.
Happy gaming everyone!
I’ll plough through a good bit of Xenoblade 1 thise weekend. I am loving this replay, and it is getting me hyped for XC3.
Might also dip into Mario 3D World with the family.
More Xenoblade 3! 100% the game is gonna be a tall task
Xenoblade 3. I’ve had a busy week with school so I haven’t made much progress, but I’ve just recently unlocked side quests in Chapter 3, and I’m having a ball. Ribbi Flats theme is absolutely beautiful and I’m not sure if I want to leave yet. Other than that, I’ve just finished the Harvestella demo, but I’m not sure if it’s for me. I’ve never played a Square Enix JRPG, so this is a bit of a shock to what I was expecting. I’m trying to decide whether I want Harvestella or Rune Factory 4. Can anyone help me decide?
Nintendo Switch - Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, just finishing off some builds before the TU2 drops at the end of this month. I've finished all the A5 Anomaly Quests and managed to attain Anomaly Research Lv100, which is the current cap (to increase - - > 120 upon TU2 release). Then from Monday I plan to sit this aside and begin the new Monkey Island!
PS5 - Took a break from Bloodborne to play Thymesia, a Sekiro/Souls clone by an indie developer. A pleasant surprise, with a really great combat system. A short length also, and I plan to push for the platinum. Just hit a wall with a particularly rough boss ('Urd') but am pushing through! Also want to try out the Wu Long demo. My last platinum was Nioh1, and I'm a huge fan of Team Ninja... hoping for good things!
Fire Emblem Fates Birthright. Thank goodness you can turn off permadeath so you don't have to restart the entire level because the enemy gets lucky with a critical hit.
I got bored with Legends Arceus so will play some Splatoon 3 and am also playing Gone Home which is very interesting.
Finally picked up Splatoon 3 now that my brother’s done his exams
I expect a few hours of that over the weekend
@Mrkittyhead
Not sure what region your'e in but in the UK Rune Factory 4 is on sale on the eshop if you don't mind digital, maybe it's on sale in other regions as well.
Honestly, get both if you can, I've not played the Harvestella demo because I don't want to spoil it cause I know its a 100% pick-up for me, but that looks great too!
Rune factory is a bit dated graphically but its a brilliant game, so personally I'd play rune factory first then Harvestella.
@MarioBrickLayer I am not into Beat'm Ups but these games I like. I am playing them all, but I would skip the early NES games they are just too hard I was using savestates and rewind (which I'd never normally do) it's a pretty great collection of all TMNT, awesome music and includes the GameBoy games too which I played growing up. So yeah personally I would recommend good value for money too!
Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Last one of the maingames I need to beat, after that I only have dead souls left for the spin offs (counting judgment, lost judgment and Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise).
Besides that fortnite should have a end of season event this weekend so probably that too.
After those are done I might pick Life is Strange 2 back up or I might start with Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins
Still playing Dark Souls on the Switch ... I am about to go to the Tomb of Giants and face Gravelord Nito.
Such a fantastic game! How I did not see it before!!!
@Nanami_Ataraxi awesome! I definitely hadn’t seen that yet. Thanks.
I just realized you said UK.😅 I’ll still most likely get it though.
@MarioBrickLayer haven't started yet but I will do within the next couple of hours, once I've stopped playing it today il let you know my thoughts.
I have a feeling I will like it as I enjoyed similar games such as the wild at heart, and new little Kings story on the vita.
I started a new season of Rocket League, so if the last few days are any indication, I’m sure I’ll play a few rounds of that this weekend. Oh, and the newest community day event in Pokemon Go is also happening this weekend.
I might also check out Granblue Fantasy: Versus on PS4 while I’m at it.
Honestly, mainly just more Splatoon 3. I'd like to focus on some other games as well, but Splatoon 3's been taking all my time lately! If I play anything else on Switch, I'm thinking either returning to Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water or just starting up Pikmin 3 Deluxe in anticipation of Pikmin 4.
On other systems, MultiVersus is one I'd like to play more on Steam Deck. Spyro as well. On PS5... not sure, but I should get something going there soon.
When I'm done with this housework I'll be diving into Splatoon 3 again Freedom Planet 2 and I want to finish Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart on PS5. Despite buying that game at launch I still haven't finished it.
If I have time this evening I'll probably play some Spiderman on Steam Deck, that is if I'll be able to get myself away from Splatoon 3.
Back to The Labyrinth of Grisaia since I finished Kinkoi: Golden Time
Seems like I'm finally about to finish Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm not sure if I will do Future Connected right after or not, but if not, then I'll probably play Bayonetta afterwards to start getting ready for Bayonetta 3. That and I don't want to play another long RPG right after one.
I've played Splatoon 3 basically non-stop for the past week and, especially with a Splatfest coming up, I'll probably still be on it for the next few weeks to come (currently on Lv22 of the catalogue, I WILL UNLOCK THE DAB).
Apart from that though, I've decided to give the original Excitebike a go on NSO in preparation for 64 coming down the line and have been having a surprisngly fun time with it, in addition to some Pokemon and maybe WinBack before Goldeneye comes out.
A 70/30 split between Temtem and Splatoon 3.
Oh boy, when I first played splatoon 2 it was my only game, it was the reason I bought a Switch actually.
Now over the years I slowly amassed over 100 games in my backlog so I really can't justify putting the amount of hours I put into Splatoon 2 into the third one, but nonetheless it feels like coming home, or full circle for my little console, and I still suck just as bad as I did in 2017. XD
@Mr_Gamecube
If you liked Dragon Quest Builders, you have to play the sequel. It is great.
I made the mistake of starting Splatoon 3 (my first Splatoon experience) instead of sticking with Xenoblade 3. I’m about 55hrs into Xenoblade 3 and I want to keep playing it but Splatoon 3 is SO addictive!
I recently upgraded to PS Plus Premium, so I downloaded a few games that caught my attention. Stray,(even though I have the physical copy coming this week)YS 9 Monstrom Knox, Vampyr,(loved it on Switch) Infamous First Light.
On Switch I'm still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (130 hours) trying to complete all of the side quests (I swear this game will never end). A little Cowabunga Collection on the side and I started Crystar a few days ago, which I like so far.
For me Mega Man 10 in the Legacy Collection 2, forgot how much I liked that game lol. Others I’ll probably be playing will be some Pokémon Unite, MHR:Sunbreak to get ready for the 2nd title update, & maybe something on my 3DS like Metroid or Kirby.
Splatoon 3. Gonna do some more Salmon Run.
Dreamlight Valley, and I’ll probably start playing Yakuza Like a Dragon!
After defeat all superbosses in Xenoblade 3 using Soul Hacker class in hard mode, now time to move on for a while and next one to play is....XENOSAGA EPISODE 1
Splatoon 3 has me fairly hooked, as expected. But the backlog is building toward critical mass behind it, as I’ve vented in other comments. I just have to trust that I will get to these games, in time.
I have a backlog, and it’s okay. 😅
Today the girls both said they want to finish learning how to ride their bikes! So I have to jump all over this enthusiasm and help them before fear/disinterest sets in again. 🚴
Wishing everyone guilt-free gaming this weekend!
I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I started it late and probably will play it until Pokemon ScarVi comes out. I'll also play a few rounds of Splatoon 3
Well... I've watched a little bit of the walkthrough of The Last Door: Season Two, due to problem with solving safe's code. That was too much hard for me. And game's hints was pretty weird and useless for me. So...
The Last Door: Season Two — launched the game for 5 minutes, solved(thanks to walkthrough) the puzzle with safe and that's all.
Yep... Not much gaming this week due to work... Yawn That's all what I've played on this week. Have a nice gaming weekend, everyone.
Only xenoblade chronicles 3 trying to get this finished. I started ch. 7 last night so this it!
I haven’t played anything in months. Hardly anything this year because I’ve had so many things going on in my life. It’s been a long year! My backlog is so big I don’t know where to start! So many games I need to revisit….
Splatoon 3 & DQ11S on Switch.
Maybe some Val/Siege on the side too.
Planning on trying out the Harvestella demo, as well as working through FF7 and Live a Live. May also sprinkle in some Mario Kart and Xenoblade 3 unique monsters
Final Fantasy VII Remake is everything everyone says! A cultivating tale that demands your attention from start to finish? Not having played the original I’m having a hard time not going back to it and/or looking up what happens next. Bring on Crisis Core Reunion & Rebirth
Seeking my next adventure, I dove into the Harvestella & Diofield Chronicle’s demos & Marvel’s Spiderman to each not hooking me the way I had hoped…. But last weekend, I read NL’s features article on Monolith Soft & it resonated with me just enough that it had me thinking about Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition & now I’m 5 hours in! the story is very interesting but the battle system is a bit confusing. I hope to see it through to the end
I'm almost 90 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Chapter 6, smothered in side content, nowhere near the end. My goal was to finish before the end of the month, but I don't think it'll happen at this point....Please send help. X-X
Oh, and still the occasional puzzle or two in Stretchmo. Some Pokemon Go Community Day action on Sunday too, which should hopefully get me out of the house for a bit....
Happy gaming! Have a great weekend!
I'm still playing Dreamlight Valley, and have almost finished the Star Path for this month already. I think there's only one more character to recruit until the DLC arrives, too.
I'm also enjoying Splatoon 3 and, on the Xbox, Forza Horizon 2. The latter is still enjoyable, but I constantly lose connection to the server, so the multilayer aspect is a no-go.
Minecraft with my daughter. She has me building a giant dog out of wool, with pink stairs you climb up its tongue, and we live inside like parasites. When I have a moment of free time splatoon 3 or the XIII remake. I haven’t seen much on the latest XIII update they did but so far I’m happy with it. It runs well, the aiming feels better, the sound is better, but I still miss the more comic book style of the original. There was only one copy I could find in town at my GameStop so I grabbed it.
Haven't played any games since I quit Wow classic over a year ago...
Sad.
Xenoblade chronicles 3 for me. 35 hours in, moving much slower, it got busy over the last week did not have time for it.Also maybe trying out disco elysium, and White Day. As for Visual Novels, still working on Island, but can’t wait for the two chaos games to come out ina few weeks.
When I’m not doing schoolwork…
Streets of Rage, Cuphead, and maybe BOTW
I started Astral Chain this week as well as RE Revelations and SW Republic Commandos, all on switch.
I think I'm getting really close to finishing all the side quests in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 so I'll be doing more of that! I also recently bought Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 so I might play that as well. I've got to say I love just free skating around the park lol. Idk what it is but it's just super therapeutic (until you fall that is lmao)
Still plugging away at Xenoblade. Like Gonçalo, I just crossed the 100 hour mark, and I only have a vague idea of how much game I have left to do. I have a three day weekend due to my province closing my job sector Monday in light of recent events, so we'll see how far I can get before I'm back to work.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and TMNT Cowabunga Collection.
@KilloWertz For what it's worth Future Connected is REALLY short compared to the base game. I did everything possible in future connected and it only took me 15 hours.
Last night was Twilight Princess HD, which is what I'll probably continue with over the weekend, maybe throwing in a bit of GRID to-.... Oh ACTUALLY... just remembered that I haven't played the new DLC Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks yet, which is downright scandalous, so that has to be rectified sharpish.
I've fallen for the trap of having too many games on the go at once!
Neon White, chapter four I think. I've been platinum running each mission (+gifts) so that's probably taking me longer than it should.
Xeno 3 playthrough continues. Nowhere near the end but I don't mind. Might even pick up the pass and get those extra characters as I'm playing it.
Splatoon 3. Salmon run for the win! Looking forward to the Splatfest! I missed those!
Ringfit. Finally re-found my momentum.
God of war (2018). I wanted to see if I'd still like it in 2022 and also to re prep me for Ragnarok. But why did I start this? I've got enough to play!
Resident Evil 4 on Switch. Going through The Mercenaries.
@Vortexeo Thanks for pointing that out. Even if I decide to move on to something else since my playtime will end up being around 90 hours once I'm done, I'lll definitely come back to it to play Future Connected at some point. Not going to ignore more good content from a good game. It would be more because I've spent a lot of time on the game already.
Finally it happened!
My first Souls game beaten!!!
@KilloWertz Yeah that's understandable! I didn't jump into future connected immediately either. It was a good point to take a break! I just wanted to make sure you were aware
I'll play Splatoon 3:
Salmon Run, and give a few more tries to the difficult secret story mode level, After Alterna.
Pikmin 3. Great game but I’m not very good at it. Pikmin 4s reveal has got me in the mood again.
Disney Dreamlight Valley and Kirby and the Forgotten Land post-game!
I just started my first job and bought a PS5 with my recent check, so I'm catching up on all the legacy PlayStation content I missed out on. I've only had time to beat Astro's Playroom and a childhood favorite of mine, the original Jak and Daxter. But I'm currently playing Jak II, Sackboy, Dreams, and the PS4 remake of Rachet and Clank. I've also purchased but haven't yet played Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart, Psychonauts 1 and 2, Jak III, and Kingdom Hearts All-In-One. The console also came with Horizon: Forbidden West.
I'm planning to get more games down the line too, like Little Big Planet 3, Sly Cooper, PaRappa the Rapper, and MediEvil. Was going to get It Takes Two, but now that a Switch version has been announced, I may hold off and see how well that game performs on it before I buy it on PS5.
This weekend will likely be devoted to beating Ratchet if I can, and maybe also starting on the first Psychonauts. I just don't want to start too many games at the same time and never finish them or burn myself out on all these 3D platformers. I probably won't be touching my Switch very much for the next month or so, but my heart will always belong to Nintendo first and foremost.
I'll be on an airplane sunday night and have a tradition of playing zelda on long flights; I may start Link to the Past for the first time in many years. Before that:
games Im playing this weekend
Playstation 3
-God of War
-replaying grandia 1 to start over
Nintendo Switch Lite
-Ni No Kuni II
-Resident Evil 5
PSP
maybe play Grandia 1 on it or play it on my Playstation 3
I want to start Three Hopes, but I'm still playing Three Houses, trying to finish up another playthrough. I'm also playing Samurai Warriors 5 and.. we'll see where things go from there.
On Nintendo Switch i´m playing this weekend with my wife:
I’m gonna go back to Overwatch for a bit since they’re wrapping up the classic game early next month. Also going to play a little bit of Splatoon 3 - I still need to find a weapon that works for me this time around. Maybe a little bit of Switch Sports and Gran Turismo too if I have the time. I’d like to pick up Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but I don’t see myself having the time to commit to playing through it.
I’m still playing plenty of Splatoon 3, mostly multiplayer, but I intend on really digging into the single player this weekend. I’ll also be playing the new Fortnite season on Sunday.
@MarioBrickLayer I have played around 2 hours and I had a blast with it, it definitely has that typical nintnedo charm about it, the basic gameplay has you collecting and growing different types of pikmins to get past different areas, beat enemies on the map and collect fruit which is pretty important, as to my surprise theres a day management system in which you need enough food to be able to continue exploring the next day.
So far though there's an abundance of food to collect I've actually got 7 days worth so I can go exploring for days without worrying about collecting more food. You do need to manage your days as well as each day is timed and once it hits night time that day automatically ends and any Pikmin you left behind get killed. Also the map is divided up into sections so each day you choose where you want to explore so you will need to bring with you the correct type of pikmin depending on where you want to go, as to fully explore each zone you will probably take you multiple days. There's boss fights and enemies dotted around the map which all have different weaknesses to different Pikmin types.
And there's multiple main characters which you can switch between at will, and can assign a different squad of Pikmin to each of them, meaning you can cover a lot of the map with each one in one day, so for example with one character I can get them to send the Pikmin to collect tiles to build a bridge and whilst there doing that I can switch to another character and take some Pikmin and carry on exploring.
Its quite a strategic game but nothing too complicated and is definitely not hard, and the food collecting shouldn't put you off as there's more than enough food to collect, so far anyway.
Yesterday marked the tenth anniversary of Kirby’s Dream Collection in North America (you Europeans sadly never got it). So I’ve been celebrating that by playing the New Challenge Stages in it. They’re challenging but satisfying, and they make me think of my high school years.
Not much time for gaming this weekend, but I have partial playthroughs of Xenoblade Chronicles (the first one), SaGa Scarlet Grace, and Cross Code (pretty much in that order). I'll likely focus on Xenoblade for a while, but I'm hoping to keep all three moving enough that i don't forget where I was
@UltimateOtaku91 It sounds excellent! I played the first Pikmin game 20 years ago on the GameCube, but I barely remember it. I'll definitely give it a go! Thanks for updating on your progress!
To Leave. Its an existential crisis simulator.
I’ve only recently gotten back into gaming as I find it really helps me unwind. So this weekend I’m tackling Yoshi’s Island. It’s so much fun and a gorgeously designed games. I know I’m very late to her party but whatever… 😃
I just beat Cult of The Lamb and enjoyed it. Finishing up Xenoblade 3. Also playing some Splatoon 3.
I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.
Smash with friends and Xenoblade 3 postgame by myself.
And believe it or not, I also got a hold of splatoon 3 after all this time, my friends bought it for me so I didn't feel like I was wasting money on a sequel I still didn't think we needed but hey, I'm still having a ton of fun with them.
@SillyPlanet92 I been meaning to get Cult of the Lamb but was put off since it apparently had severely performance issues.
Have they been fixed now?
In looking through my installed games I rediscovered Doom 64, so I’m blasting through that. Need to get back into Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Dragon Quest XI, too.
The Parodius series. On my Pi box, because Konami seems to think we don’t deserve any of it on the Switch, my PSP is long dead, and I can emulate Sexy Parodius on it.
Now I just need a Compute Module 4 to get it all on what looks like a Game Boy. Or Konami to release the collection on the Switch [hint Impact leaves crater the size of Utah as the debris clears]…
Playing Outer Wilds on my Steam Deck as I gave up waiting for the Switch version. Such an interesting game with a great sense of exploration and impressive game (astro)physics.
I’d actually be curious to see how it runs on switch as the graphics aren’t complex altho the physics engine may be pushing the Switch’s capabilities.
Dragon Quest X Offline.
I still can't read or speak Japanese, despite playing Japanese games for a decade, now, but I LOVE that I'm finally able to play Dragon Quest X without having to deal with other people.
I'm playing Monkey Island 2 one last time in preparation for Return to Monkey Island on Monday.
Probably, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for GC, I was waiting for this last direct before replaying them in hopes we would get the remake ports, but unfortunately, we did not. So I'm just going to replay the GC versions instead. After that, I'll probably look into playing some horror games since it's close to that time of year.
I’m playing digimon survive
50% done with Final DOOM. Now on to The Plutonia Experiment.
It's been Star Wars Pod Racer and Xena Warrior Princess on the N64 for me this weekend. Great fun.
Playing new season of Fortnite with my son when not playing Ooblets.
Been trying to get my girlfriend into games, she's big into management sims and doesn't like violence so this weekend I showed her Spiritfarer and she adores it, been glued to the screen all weekend now
@RubyCarbuncle I’m surprised you picked it up. It seemed you were set on not getting 3.
All the Bayonetta 3 news has me excited, but I've never really played Bayonetta 2. I just finished 1 and I'm planning on diving into 2 today. I think 1 still holds up really well and I can't wait to finally experience the second game!
@TYRANACLES Well there's not much else out atm and apart from the Multiplayer I do like the Single Player Campaigns in Splatoon games despite some really annoying Stages.
@iLikeUrAttitude I had a few minor glitches, but I was enjoying the game too much to care. For instance, there would be one enemy who would get pushed outside the level boundary, and since I couldn't kill it, I wouldn't be able to proceed to the next area.
Return to Monkey Island (Switch)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Series X)
I was going to stick with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 until the end, but after 25 hours I needed a break. Played plenty of Wave Race 64; then got Panzer Dragoon on a sale, beat that in an hour, had fun but it mostly made me excited for Zwei and maybe Saga further down the line, since the first game is mostly a proof-of-concept; and now playing through Beyond Oasis on NSO, which is amazing and beautiful and kind of janky but extremely well-paced. Near the end of that, I think.
@RubyCarbuncle I’ve had fun with the story. Everything else is great to, when it works.
@TYRANACLES Good to hear because the Destroy all Targets Stages have driven me insane to the point I've had to stop playing it.
