Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd February)

Hey everyone.
This week I finished Skelethrone Chronicles of Ericona. A very good Metroidvania in the same vein as Blasphemous. Really enjoyed itl, took me around 40 hours to beat.
I absolutely recommend this to those that love Blasphemous.

Also getting further in Morkull Ragast's Rage, slowly but surely.

Started There is no Light.
Man, this game is hard, like really f.......g hard. Love the art style and the gameplay rpg loop is addictive but it loves handing you your backside at the slightest mistake.

Played the demo of Rusty Rabbit and really enjoyed it so I'll probably put an order in for a physical copy.

Looking forward to reading all about what everybody else is playing! I'm juggling between these three games this weekend:

• Cocoon: Started a couple of days ago and I'm in shock at how smart this game is built. I'm only "two worlds" in, but I'm loving this little puzzle game, the sci-fi setting is perfect too.
• Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity: I've reached the last couple of missions in very hard mode and it's pretty tough. So I've started the game over on normal difficulty to farm some rupees and level up my weapons as much as possible. I also really enjoy the story and cutscenes. The Divine Beasts parts on the other hand is a real nightmare and would have better been left out of the game imo.
• Tetris Effect Connected: Taking part in the weekend ritual and full moon, unlocking some more avatars for my collection...

Monster hunter stories 1&2

This week I will be mostly screaming in frustration at

Sonic Advance 2

They're short games so I don't know how I got burnt out on them, but I stopped playing two zones into Sonic Advance 3 last weekend. I'll finish the trilogy eventually. My new game for the next month or more is Xenoblade 3, which I'm 10 hours into. And boy what a ride so far!

Donkey Kong Land 2 on NSO for me! I also am thinking of buying something in the online sale.

Trying to beat The Messenger on Switch, I’m already at the end apparently.
Also started Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on Ps5 and I started a second route in Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes on Switch.

Tales of Arise: Having never played an entry I am going in fairly blind, but I appreciate the art style, commentary, and of course a chunky RPG. I really have no idea what to expect but cannot imagine I won't have fun.

I recently completed Stray which was every bit as entertaining as I expected it to be. As the proud owner of a Siamese myself (his name is Prince) it was great exploring a dilapidated world as one of our feline friends. I just really hoped the little guy would live through it (spoiler he did of course). It was also pretty funny watching my cat attack the TV screen and try to see where the cat would go. A really underrated gem.

Super Mario 64 & original Metroid NES

I want to play some Side Order in Splatoon 3 this weekend to celebrate the first anniversary this past Friday. Besides that, just my usual Animal Crossing and whatever small games I play to pass the time. My time-killer games tend to be arcade games or WarioWare.

Does the poll only let you vote for one game now or is it just me?

I'm going to be doing a randomized run of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. I love how randomizers can put new life into old games like that, and specifically in this case actually make it challenging to boot, because the original was really easy, due to its nature as an entry level RPG. Eventually I want to move up to randomizers of other games like Zelda and Pokémon, but for now this is my bread and butter randomizer. I love it!

About halfway through chapter 7 in Trails in the Sky Second Chapter. It’s excellent! …but after 60 hours I’m ready for it to wrap up

This weekend I will continue playing Avowed. Started it yesterday and so far I like what I saw.

As for Nintendo, I will try to get a true ending in Ultros, but it takes a lot of time and effort, so I will probably give up soon and start Sonic Advance 3. I heard that this is the best entry in GBA trilogy. I sure hope so, because 1 was too short and easy and 2 was frickin' hard.

Bulletstorm Switch Edition, just picked it up in the sale, it's reviewed well. Looking forward to seeing how it plays..

I decided to do a 100% playthrough of Yoshi's Island because I've never done that before and just 2 worlds in I can confidently say I will never do it again
I also picked up Star of Providence which is just as amazing as it was back when it released in 2017 on Steam (it used to be called Monolith back then but they changed the title to avoid potential legal issues with WB), it's up there with both Spelunky games as one of my favorite roguelites of all time and one of my favorite games period

Disgaea 1 on the Switch. Grinding is zen. Empties the head.

I'm going to try to finish up Fire Emblem Engage if possible. I'm on Chapter 21 out of 26, so I'm pretty close. I'm actually enjoying it a lot more than Three Houses. I also have no idea as to what I'll want to play afterwards. It's a choice between Islets (I loved Crypt Custodian. It's the same devs), Neir Automata, Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, and Persona 3 Reload on my PS4.

Super Metroid
I've played through Super Metroid quite a few times but I got the urge to try to get the best ending. It was surprisingly easy. My clear time was 01:43 and I got 64% of all items. Looks like I would've had enough time to collect all items but this was my first "speedrun" so I wasn't sure how it would go. Maybe I'll do another run.

Unicorn Overlord
In the land of elves. Halfway through the game. Bit bored. I play on Tactical which is second to highest difficulty and I'm just steamrolling every battle but I don't really want to switch to higher difficulty midway through the game. Amount of new units has dropped significantly. At the beginning you'd get one or two new units every battle and now I can go hours without encountering a new one.

Well, it's still Kirby Month over on my YouTube channel. I'm almost finished with Kirby Superstar, I just need to complete The Arena, and then I'll be moving on to Kirby 64.

I recently started playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe again and am loving it. Also playing Knack on PS4, feels like playing a movie and enjoying it so far.

Biomutant - Granted the textures and lighting have taken a hit being ported over to Switch. I am enjoying it and it runs fairly smoothly in the vast open world. I got it in a sale a while ago and there's so much to explore, it does seems value for money.

Alien Fireteam Elite - Yes it's a cloud version but I am having a blast with it online with other cross play people. Runs well enough with the odd 2 second pause now and then. It does get fun when the Aliens come at you from all directions and everyone is running around like headless chickens 🤣

Sonic X Shadow Generations, Star Wars: Roque Squadron for the Nintendo 64 and Ring Fit Adventure. Sonic is fun with just the right amount of challenge.

Willl be playing some more R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 on PS4. I never played this one at the time as I was a Saturn owner, but the game is great even now. It has such a late 90s feeling and the visual design and music are outstanding. It's up there with SEGA Rally for timeless arcade racing.

On Switch still playing the new Tomb Raider collection, AoD is an interesting historical oddity so good to finally play it, though there are some frame drops in this game on later levels on Switch so hopefully gets a patch.

Also on Switch I picked up X-Out: Resurfaced, I did have the game on my C64 but the tape loading was a pain. I really like this updated version of the game and Chris huelsbeck's excellent music is just as memorable here as in the Turrican games. The fake crack intro at the beginning is a nice touch for oldies who remember them.

Been in London for a few days with the family watching the Stranger Things play amongst other things (brilliant). So I cracked out the 3DS and left the Switch at home. Been playing Fairune 2, one of the games I picked up just before the 3DS eshop closed. Enjoying it.

Back home I started Portal 2 before I left so will probably play a bit more of that too.

I just finished playing all of the Donkey Kong Country games.
I found the Game Boy Color DKC1 at a CeX recently and bought it.
I then got the three DKC games on GBA from eBay. (DKC3 GBA seems a bit pricey usually, but I managed to win it in a bid that was lower than the buy-it-now listings, which was nice)

This is how I went about doing it: I played DKC1 on SNES NSO, and would complete a world. Then I played on GBC and completed the same world. Then I played on GBA and completed the same world again. And I would alternate like that. To see the differences between each version.
Was kind of fun to do it this way.

I did the same for DKC2 and DKC3 with their NSO and GBA versions.

DKC3 was particularly interesting with its GBA version, as it added a brand new world called Pacifica, located in the north-west of the overworld map.
(...Pacifica Northwest? made me think of Gravity Falls for no reason), and also has a completely different soundtrack to the SNES version.

But overall, for all three games, when they ported the level design over to GBA, they didn't always transfer it perfectly - sometimes an out-of-reach barrel on SNES was perfectly reachable on GBA, or a line of Gnawties that you can easily roll through on SNES would cause you to take a hit on GBA. It felt like the conversion wasn't always perfect, and the SNES originals always had the most deliberate and congruous level design, despite the GBA adding new content and improvements on top.

I also played the Game Boy DK Land games on NSO. They were fine. DK Land 1 was definitely its own thing, though it felt unrefined, and the cloud levels are just annoying.
DK Land 2 was very much trying to be a GB port of DK Country 2 with simplified level layouts. It felt a bit redundant, but it wasn't bad.
And DK Land 3 sits somewhere in between - not exactly a DKC3 rehash, but not its own entirely new thing like DK Land 1 either. It's okay. I enjoyed them.

I then played DKC Returns on the 3DS (didn't feel like buying the Switch port when I had this one in my collection already), and Tropical Freeze on Switch.
They are good games, but I found them incredibly frustrating to play at times. Tropical Freeze was much better than Returns in my opinion, but I was surprised that I found myself enjoying them a lot less than the SNES games.
I was also surprised at how extremely difficult they are in comparison. Normally you'd expect a modern Wii era game to be easier than a classic SNES era game right? Hahaha. No. DKC Returns was one of the most difficult games I've played in a long time.

For both of these games I got 100% but did not try to go for Mirror Mode / Hard Mode at all. One playthrough was enough for me.

Took a game break after finishing the Zelda Oracles to catch up on some other things; this week have just jumped back into Tactics Ogre: Reborn. This has been a real “off again, on again” game for me, getting 1-2 dozen hours between other games. Once I lose interest again Y’s X is up next.

Continuing with Tomb Raider The Last Revelation and so far it's mostly as fantastic as I remember it being.

After finally reaching 100 percent on Balatro last weekend, I've been knocking around on this or that and thinking about what I'm going to get into next. The Spearess will be away Sunday, so I will have plenty of time.

With all the hype around the launch of Civ VII, I recalled that I still haven't even touched Civ VI, which has been on my Switch for years. So I will be cracking into that today or tomorrow.

I've also been back into Splatoon. As I said last week, the long OCD time with Balatro eroded my Splatoon skills, so I've been polishing up here and there.

And of course, Balatro has been alive and well. It's nice to go after gold stake or a high score without the pressure of an achievement. I actually beat my all-time high score earlier in the week, and on gold stake too.

I've also been in Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons and Tetris Ultimate, and I intend to try Super Box Delivery on the PS4 as well.

Fate/EXTELLA LINK – beaten the 2nd route. Started the 3rd route. Beaten Stages 1, 20, and 21.
Crypt of the NecroDancer – beaten Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4 as Chaunter. Out of Synchrony DLC three newcomers, Chaunter is the hardest to play as, BUT, he's quite a cool character. And, imo, he's one of the coolest characters in the game.
And, beaten all 5 Zones in online multiplayer (4 players) as Suzu. My teammates were Steam users and they've played the game as Coda(!) and Monk. It was amazing to play the game with the experienced Coda and Monk players. Also, online works really good!
Reigns: Game of Thrones – bought the entire Reigns series for 4,49$USD on NA eShop!
GoT was the only one game that I've played at this moment. Unlocked Tyrion and Cersei Lannisters.
Crossing Souls – bought on sale for 1,99$. I've played the game years ago on Windows, but was unable to finish it. Just started the game and played it 'till the first checkpoint. Chapter 1.
I was supposed to play UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II [Sys:Celes], since we finally got Ogre, but...
ARC SYSTEM WORKS delayed Ogre for Switch users! On purpose! Dizzy for Switch version of Strive was releasing on the same day as Ogre, so it's why they delayed him on... On a WHOLE WEEK! 😡 I hate them for this selfish move. But, somehow, Switch users got Ogre earlier than intended... Only EU Switch players. While NA (and probably JP) Switch users will get Ogre only on February 26/27! Modern ASW is one of the worst FGs developers/publishers that exists nowadays. I'll never forgive them for their disgusting selfishness, and the other, bigger sins...

When I get super busy and cannot make time to play video games I tend to purchase a lot more games. I don’t know if that is giving my brain the same chemicals in some way, but it’s an impulse for sure.

So I’m inching my way through Fantasian Neo Dimension and genuinely loving it. But feel like I need to spread the pittance of attention I’ve given it to other experiences, and put in Cavern of Dreams a game I also find to be absolutely delightful

I’m still working my way through Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and going for the plat. I went from convincing passerby’s I’m the Dark Lord to being nicknamed Sourdough. That isn’t a joke and I love it.

What is more shocking is how I’ve put 85 hours in the game and just now reached the second region. It feels like an entirely fresh play-through due to the variety of locales, side quests, and story beats.

I also decided to boot up my Nintendo Switch. Admittedly, it has been a while. I’ve been on a nostalgic kick and want to get lost in an (J)RPG of a lighter scale, so I purchased Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana and The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero. I’m looking forward to starting at least one of those games in earnest in the next couple of days.

@Dark_Isatari I had a lot of trouble with Tactics Ogre. On paper it is everything I should love, FFT is the best game ever made, but it didn’t land quite. Potentially because it has like zero charisma, and the tactics are a little dated. But the aesthetic, music, and basic tactical gameplay do deliver

I’m going to get back in to Splatoon 3 after not playing for a year and a half.

I’ll be trying out a GameCube I bought the other day…

KID ICARUS UPRISING BABYYYYYY

Just beat Chapter 9.

Allegedly, the frosty winter weather around here will relent a bit this weekend, so time saved from shoveling, salting, and scraping will go towards a drapery project and some more Freedom Wars Remastered.
I was coasting along mission to mission in this game with nary a failure until recently - being underpowered for the Code 6 Exam mission has prompted me to go back and seek out materials to upgrade my weaponry, modules, and enhancements, in a very Monster Hunter way. It’s fun to be stymied, though. That’s why we play games, right? To hit a hurdle, puzzle and practice your way over it, and then feel that satisfying progress? I’m reminded often that games are wonderful things made by a wonderfully talented people. 😄

I am currently playing through Hades. I have managed to get to the surface twice already and each time it is a really nice feeling accomplishing that. Game just gets more addicting the more stuff you unlock.

Been playing Atelier Shallie. Playing on hardcore and being a top class hunter and sage of alchemy~

I've done a bit better this week focusing more on DKC Returns HD. I have another busy weekend ahead of me so when I get some gaming time, I'll try to keep on it till it's finished. It's amazing what happens when I boot up DKC first instead of Snowrunner (Switch). I actually make progress

Hopefully I can stick to that plan so I can move onto other already purchased games just waiting to be played. Snowrunner though will always be mixed in so it may continue to be a constant derailer of plans.

star wars jedi fallen order- I bought the sequel so before I play it and doing a 100% playthough of the first game.

Finally bringing my run in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Torna: The Golden Country to a close. I got on a bit of a tear in my studies (which is good!) and didn't make much progress recently. Also: taking my wife out for a romantic day of axe throwing!

Still debating my next effort, as much as love JRPGs, I may want to try something a bit different as a palette cleanser. My go to I usually a Metroidvania or something, but there's usually a lot of memory involved for spotty play sessions 😅

Rolled credits on Animal Well, been playing it quite intensely this past week or so. Went straight back in for more of course but I’m struggling to make any more progress at the minute, it’s really cool to get lost and just suss it out yourself, but I’m not too sure how long I’ll keep playing through this second layer, if I continue to feel like I’m not getting anywhere. Have a good weekend all.

Earlier this week, I swung through the entire story of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales & quite enjoyed seeing New York City in all its glory. Insomniac does not miss! I even found my self lost in the “collectathon” & got pretty close to the platinum. Currently fighting my way through Mortal Kombat 1. I find the cut scenes & story to be mesmerizing. On the side before bed, I’ve been dabbling in Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos through the SNES trilogy as my goal is to finish the series this year. I just can’t get enough of these classics!

I began playing Dark Souls for the first time earlier this week, and I am now completely addicted to the slog that is progress. I am currently in Blighttown at level 37 and I have two firm takeaways from this game:
1. they weren’t lying when they said Dark Souls is difficult
2. I suck at Dark Souls

@ScalenePowers I was a huge fan of GBA Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis, and had always wanted to play through more of the series or see what the more well-known original T.O. was like. I was pumped for the NS release so I could finally try it! And... yeah it isn't as good. The branching story paths is interesting, but I feel like the GBA game is more strategic and more fun. I guess I can't deny that it's been a disappointment but it is still mildly fun... enough for me to revisit it now and again. I assume I'll finish it some day. It's good to hear I'm not alone there!

Probably just more Guilty Gear Strive, now that Dizzy released I'm hoping for an influx of players.

Ended up getting really sick, so I'm still putting off playing more Urban Myth Dissolution Center and starting Avowed until I'm well.
I hate playing new games when I'm sick. Especially this kinda sick. Hopefully I'm well before Monster Hunter Wilds on Friday.
Sigh. I had such plans.

Let’s see… I bought Card en Ciel just recently so I will be trying to play a little of that. It’s hard to get into battle mechanics wise when it’s been a while since I played the demo. 😂

Playing Fantasian Neo Dimension - near the end I think of the game. Some people weren’t kidding when they said it was very hard in the second part of the game which is why they added an “normal” mode. Some side quests boss kicked my butt even though I was at the recommended level and passed it in some cases. Still a great game though. Really loving it.

Bravely default 1 on 3ds - ugh. About to fight 2 annoying bosses in chapter 4 now.

Maybe do some chaos head Noah if I can.

Since I'm on a mini vacation I only brought my switch with. With that said, just DQIII HD2D

Switch sessions are expected to include the latest backlog bloa- er, boost in the form of Caligula Effect, Nuclear Blaze and Rain World (without the DLC for now) on top of franchise-themed juggles (Xenoblade, Rune Factory, Tales, Atelier, Persona, Castlevania...) and other playthroughs from Setsuna, Mudrunner, Bioshock 2 and Afterimage to Little Noah, Dave the Diver, TerraTech and Echoes of Wisdom. Possibly something NSO-powered like Super Mario Kart or Metroid Zero Mission, too.

Beyond the hybrid realm, I may well find some time for PS4 to celebrate splurging on the discounted PS+ renewal through next February or so (with particular attention to RE3R which leaves the catalogue next month, but stuff like High On Life, Wolfenstein New Order or Witch & Hundred Knight are possible as well), and I certainly wouldn't mind more Death Stranding, FFXIII, Neptunia, Unwound Future and/or Fantasy Life either.

Currently playing farmagia really good game so challenging as well and hilarious.

Okami for me! Currently saving the canine warriors. Love the game so far.

I’ll also try to get some Guilty Gear Strive games in. I typically have played the game on PC, but as a Nintendo fan I wanna support the Switch Strive community.

Finally grabbed KILL KNIGHT on sale. Been wanting to play it since it launched. Such a great action game. Wish there was more variety in the stages and enemies, but I do enjoy a good twin-stick shooter. The management of your abilities and how you kill to gain resources gives me serious DOOM ETERNAL vibes. Once you get into it a bit everything just clicks.

Expanding my mini console collection and found myself a PS1 classic. Not a stellar line up but enjoying top down GTA. Would love to see a port of Chinatown Wars.

Chapter 7 in FF7 rebirth. Killing time until XC X!

Been getting in some Skyward Sword HD this week, it's been awhile since I've played it so it's been a blast to go through one of my favorite Zelda games again.

Ring Fit Adventure: I bit the bullet and restarted my character so I can play through the adventure mode again. I think this is the most motivating way for me to keep up these workouts.
Skyrim ae: How is this game still so much fun? This is my first time playing the anniversary edition so I’m curious to see the mods. I haven’t had much exposure to them yet but when I opened the blacksmithing activity it was awesome to see all these interesting things added.
Yakuza Kiwami: I just started this but I’m loving the vibes. To me it bears a resemblance to Shadow Hearts with its humor, randomness, and mundane conversations and I love it for that. Although the original releases are about 4 or 5 years apart they are both ps2 games and I see that era’s Japanese weird game design in both of them.
Damn, if there’s one series I would really like to see get remastered it’s Shadow Hearts 1 & 2. They don’t need to remake anything just give us a modern way to play those wonderful games please.

Still working on M&L Brothership, currently on the Brrrning Sea. Not much outside of that. Although, I actually picked up a copy of Armoured Core Last Raven for ps2 at a good deal. Tried it last night, and, well, I clearly don't get early mech games 😅. Maybe I just need some time.

Still playing Octopath Traveler II. I've finished 4 of the 8 characters' stories now, so the end is in sight. I might even go for the endgame superbosses, we'll see if my party is strong enough by the time I've finished the other 4 stories.

I’m feeling the pull towards something new but I have to refuse the urge to abandon my Pokédex completion in Pokémon Crystal for 3DS VC. Getting the Mewtwo from Yellow will probably be the last one, but I still have to grind some for Dragonite and Tyranitar.

I'm still playing Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, I'm on the second part of the last case, and just finished investigating Allebahst. I've also been planning to play Pokemon Moon, and do the second grand trial, but haven't done so yet. But, today's looking good. And, of course, Fire Emblem Heroes. Another paralogue done.

@Freek You’ve got some interesting choices there. How do you find and decide what to play?

I’m working my way through Pokémon Violet on handheld while beginning the back half of Twlight Princess HD on the big screen. Manifesting a switch port so it’s easier to bring it with me to bed 🤣

We’ve spent the last day and a half with family celebrating a special birthday but I did get to play a little bit Kraino for the first time this morning and I really have enjoyed it so far. It’s given me a good enough challenge and I like the music. Tonight I’m going to work a bit on snow runner I think. I’ve just recently picked it back up. I may go back and start Alaska. I went straight into Tamyr from Michigan and that was a mistake.

Metroidvania's are my first choice genre, but after that I just browse through a few sites and find games that I think I'd be interested in. I then do review searches on at least 5 different sites so I get a broad idea off each individual reviewers opinions and watch trailers and yt videos to see if it is what I would like. I then reduce my wishlist accordingly and pick what ever is on sale. I also love the cross genre of the Metroidvania like Dark Devotion or Astral Ascent that mixes rogue like elements into it or games that mix rpg elements into them.

Sorry for the long winded explanation.

Today has been a mix of relaxation/hobbies and some leftover decluttering from my fall purge that I wanted to finish before spring arrives. Took longer than I thought, but I believe I'm FINALLY finished! (For now....)

Playing:

• Fire Emblem: Three Houses - I cleared Chapter 8's mission earlier and also managed to recruit two more students (Petra and Lysithea) to the Blue Lions. They've joined Dorothea and Marianne. Still working on Leonie. I'm fine leaving the rest for now. Overall I'm enjoying the game - the character supports and battles are high points IMO - though I'll admit some of the monastery's fluff is starting to feel grind-y. Wouldn't say I'm hooked by the plot yet, but I am intrigued by some happenings.
• Kirby: Planet Robobot - Started this pink puffball title earlier and am having a BLAST! I've finished the first world and found all code cubes. Piloting the mech is fun and allows for some pretty OP abilities. I decided to play this before learning HAL's 45th anniversary is this month, so it's a happy coincidence. If this is anything like when I picked up Kirby's Return To Dream Land on Wii, Nintendo will announce a port or remaster of this game soon.

Finally started Core Keeper on Friday, and it's got its hooks into me quite deeply. Really scratches that Stardew itch for me.

I breezed through "A Short Hike". Great game! I find myself wishing it were a slightly longer hike. The storyline was simple but charming. I found the map design to be pretty unique and the exploration was satisfying.

Then I picked up Monster Train for $2.99 on sale on Steam. It's a deck builder roguelike somewhat similar to Slay the Spire. NOT RECOMMENDED if you have actual adult things to do as it is highly addictive and fun.

This weekend, I finally beat Fire Emblem: Three Houses, so I'm going to need a palette cleanser before getting back to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom full time. Gonna miss my Golden Deer team... Thanks for the memories, gang, we've had some fun times and you will be missed. As for what I'll play as a palette cleanser, I'm between going retro or playing something neo retro-- Or I may finally run through Shantae and the Seven Sirens instead. I'll sprinkle in some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and F-Zero 99 for good measure.

Well here we go with another awesome WAYP. Some of yall may have noticed no WAYP last week from yours truly. Simple answer is I didn’t play nothing. I was on an amazing Valentine’s Day Weekend date with the most amazing girl in the world who I asked to be my girlfriend. But yeah no games mean no WAYP. Most of the week was spent with the new regular games like Dynasty Warriors Origins and Trails Through Daybreak and YS Memoire and FFXIV Dawntrail. Actually ended up beating YS and what cam I say that is one quaint little YS game big fan of the mostly laid back artstyle. Oh yeah I finally did it I beat Metaphor Refantazio Honestly Metaphor was a beautiful game from start to finish an absolute 10/10 no notes beauty from story to characters to the world to even the combat just absolutely incredible. Most of the weekend was spent with Super Mario Party Jamboree and nothing actually. Jamboree honestly still is the best Mario Party recently no joke it’s a lot of fun and so pretty. Played two rounds on the two boards that interested me most the mall and race track ones and playing as Pauline and Rosalina is still so much fun too As for why I played nothing well I got surprised with a visit from my aforementioned girlfriend so I promptly took the Sonic Racing Crossworlds Beta I was gonna try and just well….. didn’t. Like I’ve said before yall some things are more important then gaming and this is one of them. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some WWE2K24 or maybe the Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Beta. Maybe some Fantasian Neo Dimension or even Lost Records Bloom And Rage as I would really like to see how that game plays out considering this is Tape 1. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, FFXIV: Dawntrail, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and WWE 2K24. Try to start Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii as yeah I got that as a surprise gift from the GF as well and I’m very much looking forward to enjoying that one. Excited to also pick up a copy of Monster Hunter Wilds this week as well after Pirate Yakuza it’s probably my most hyped game. Question is it it a purchase before going to NYC to see the GF, in NYC or after? Also did preorder Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 and DOOM The Dark Ages too so I’m very hype for those. The wrestling thing this week being the WWE Elimination Chamber and WWE2K25. Yeah there’s some good matches at the first like the Women’s and Men’s Elimination Chamber matches and the Kevin Owens Vs Sami Zayn Unsanctioned Match. As for WWE2K25 I’m just plain excited to get that. Anime of the week gotta go to Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Solo Leveling and Okitsura and Sakamoto Days and 100 Girlfriends. They all continue to be absolute bangers no notes I will admit I’ve skipped two weeks of anime recently. Also saw that new Captain America movie Brand New World and yeah that was good too. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast, Wrestling is Cool which I wanna give a try and Remap Radio.
